What’s your point ? Guess individuals claiming asylum should of done their homework on Canada’s immigration system prior to claiming.
my point is the "SPEED" of the process, IRCC Faced Traffic and they are short on higher-level employees that's why Homework is taking more time.

'IRCC has started to do some inside-Canada landings electronically in order to avoid in-person appointments. Some people are receiving email confirmation that they are now PRs, accompanied by instructions on how to apply for their PR cards.'

That is incredibly rare. The reality is that it is taking much longer and asylum seekers are not given work permits while they wait.

that's for very recent maybe because of Corona they are waiting

You’ll usually get a decision on your application within 6 months.

  • your supporting documents need to be verified
  • you need to attend more interviews
  • your personal circumstances need to be checked, for example, because you have a criminal conviction or you’re currently being prosecuted

Just watch what is going to happen after this pandemic, alot of refugees will get hearing and approval and work permit becuse canada will need immigrants to work to bring the economy back on track they will do so much more draws for EE applicants and then all of us waiting for PR will be put back on the back burner as usual since we are already working and can contribute to tax's they will be like oh well they can wait they can work we need more people to work.

They already started by allowing students to work more that 20 hrs... Stay woke people.

As far as canada is concenred we bing nth to be honest its theeconmic class immigrants that bring it all, we just bring backage and most of us no education i hve a masters degree and is able to work from home in Florida so im good but not everyon is me

So expect to wait. little more.

Literally give up caring TBH i took a flight to florida befre this and when i saw it becoming worts i stayed here with my family so i dont go crazy CANADA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT REFUGEES WAITING FOR PR. i've been gone for two & a half months now and i dont even care at this point almost 20 months for me and if i get my PR ill let ya'll know but i doubt it.

My prayers are with you all & for my self as well.

Why Canada needs more immigrants

Canada’s desire to welcome over 300,000 immigrants per year is meant to help alleviate its demographic challenges.

Canada has one of the world’s lowest birth rates and one of the world’s oldest populations. As more Canadians retire, it will struggle to replace them in the labour market since the country is not having enough children. This is where immigration comes in.

Immigration has been the main driver of Canada’s population growth since the 1990s, and will be the only driver of it by the early 2030s.

Population growth is important because it fuels labour force growth. The two ways to grow an economy is by adding more workers and using those workers more productively.

Today, immigration tends to account for all of Canada’s labour force growth, or the vast majority of it, in a given year. This means that Canada would constrain its economic growth potential if it welcomed fewer immigrants.

Immigrants will help to create more jobs post-coronavirus

Canada’s economy is facing tough times, but immigration will play a pivotal role in supporting Canada’s economic recovery since immigrants will help to fill newly-created jobs and also support job creation in other ways.

Statistics Canada research shows that immigrants have a high propensity to start businesses. In one of its recent studies, Statistics Canada found that immigrant entrepreneurs created 25 per cent of new private sector jobs between 2003 and 2013, even though they accounted for 17 per cent of companies studied. In other words, immigrant entrepreneurs punched above their weight when it came to job creation.

Hence, immigrant entrepreneurs post-coronavirus will create businesses that will create new jobs for fellow Canadians.

Finally, immigrants bring significant savings with them which helps to fuel the economic activity that is critical to fueling job creation in Canada.

Consider the useful proxy of international students. According to the federal government, the over 600,000 international students in Canada contribute over $22 billion in economic activity each year which supports nearly 200,000 Canadian jobs.

Canada has over 8 million immigrants, who make an even bigger contribution to economic growth and job creation than international students.

that's for very recent maybe because of Corona they are waiting few days for Decision not a decade lol

You’ll usually get a decision on your application within 6 months.

by the way, i think it's all of the processes from a to z, as you can read there it said

  • your supporting documents need to be verified
  • you need to attend more interviews
  • your personal circumstances need to be checked, for example, because you have a criminal conviction or you’re currently being prosecuted

which this means background checking i think not sure

when i approved from IRB i thought its done, my lawyer said ok next job is time to apply for PR i was like ok PR Card ???!! shouldn't take more than 3-6 months? he like no 2 years i was like shocked

after thaat another application for bringing independent that takes 1 more years
Schizophrenia

CANADA AS A COUNTRY SO NICE
MOST CANADIAN SAY TO YOU WELL IF YOU NEED PROTECTION WE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU

THEN YOU MEET WITH THE Bureaucratic EMPLOYEES ,THAY THINK THAT THEY MUST CONTROL REFUGEES

BY sophisticatING THE CANADIAN REFUGEE SYSTEM

TWO YEARS MOST waiting for THE HEARINGS
TWO YEARS FOR THE PR
1 YEAR TO BRING YOUR FAMILY
----------------------------------------
5 YEARS TOTAL THE PROCESS

AND INSTEAD OF COMPLICATING THE LIFE OF PEOPLE,IT IS BETTER TO CLOSE THIS SYSTEM ...I RESPECT TRUMP HE SAYS NO MORE REFUGEE THIS IS HIS RIGHT, BUT HE IS NOT TORTURING REFUGEES FOR FIVE YEARS

Hello all,

I have a question which is:
is eligibility includes the background check?
when they said that you meet the eligibility to apply for getting your PR, means that they have done your security and background check or what?

thanks for your assistance in advance and have a nice night :)
