Yesterday I was reading an article (not in English) about the impact of coronavirus on Canada immigration and on refugee PR applications.
They said that at the moment the immigration bureau literally works at the minimum although it is not closed. Visa offices are not processing the applications and 100s of thousands of applications including international students, seasonal workers and visitors are pending.
After weeks or months when the conversation has gone the IRC will be faced to all these pending cases. These applications such as international students and seasonal workers, work visas and tourism visas are essential for the Canada economy and therefore after coronavirus crisis the IRC will devote all the resources to these cases. That simply means the low priority applications including refugee PR applications will be forgotten for an extended period of time.
This article makes sense and I worried that we have to wait many more months to hear from IRC :(.
for the OVERSEAS international students ...they will begin their courses online for maximum 50% OF THE TOTAL COURSE
SO DON'T WORRY

I did read about this forum they not explain how to apply but I’m ask how can I apply for gcms
I am also April 2019 applicant and basically on the same boat as you are REFUGEEHELP1 has already answered this question for me look a few pages ago on this forum you will find it but this helped me apply for requesting GCMS:

GCMS or Global Case Management System is the new integrated, worldwide electronic data processing system for IRCC that is replacing CAIPS and FOSS. For all visa and citizenship applications from June 2010, CIC (now IRCC) has been processing them on GCMS rather than CAIPS or FOSS. GCMS is designed to process applications both inside Canada and abroad so it is a single integrated system. (Reference).

You can apply for your GCMS notes by Clicking Here.

Here are the questions they will ask.

Hi
Is anyone waiting for PR for more than 21 month? My application still pending even 21 month. I applied ATIP, they are start doing criminality again , first one expired recently. I think they are wasting time by checking twice or thrice. non essential police clearance is stoped due to the virus. We r gong to wait for long

I really doubt that our applications are being processed during this time and it’s completely normal because we are living through an epidemic and processing officers do have families and loved ones too that they need to stay at home with during this crisis. We just need to be patient and grateful that we’re waiting for PRs not hearings.
