Hello, does anyone have the same situation, I am applying for permanent residence from September 2019 I received a letter saying that my file was transferred to a local office for further assessments. Could you please explain this message?

Your file is transferred because you application is taking long time and they have too much backlog. They transfer files to local office sometimes to finalize the application. It should be quick now for you

- Processing started on Sep 9, 2021

- Medicals passed on Oct 4, 2021

- New schedule A was requested on Oct 15, 2021

-Eligibility passed on Jan 12,2022

I just know because on this forum it has happened to quite a few people

This is my timeline.

1. Passed eligibility letter - 15 September 2021
2. Pre Invitation Letter - 17 September 2021
3. IRCC Permanent Residence Confirmation Portal email - 22 September 2021

When they transfer files to a local office it takes more time because the office will treat it and a new file, I applied January 2020 and I was getting updates until they transferred it to Edmonton Alberta in 2021 February I haven't get any updates anymore. It supposed to be faster but it not always.

Yes am a protected person and they send me a email when my file was transferred I also called to confirm it. I even went to see my MP sometime last year still no update.

1-2 months for review and finish only god knows when

my friend received confirmation of the PR portal but when he logged in there is an issue with his name however application number and UCI number is the same but the date of birth and name is someone else name he is asking for advice on what he needs to do now? in the portal, they asking to declare and upload photos but the issue is someone else name ... in 3 days he received emails and updates back to back and he is Feb 21 applicant
