Time line for Permanent Residence application for Refugees

I applied Permanent Residence with my lawyer, therefore my lawyer attached to my application. Because of that I was not able to link my application to my cic account. However, after 6 months waiting and being unable to see the detailed status, I removed my lawyers name from my application and I linked my application. As I understand, most of you who linked their application got their useless pre arrival letters. Because I just linked my application, there are no messages. My lawyer did not send me pre arrival letter either. So my question is, does linking PR application to cic account expedites the processing of application. Because my friend linked his application, he got pre arrival letter after 1 month linking the application. And after one more month he got decision made status and one week later he became permanent resident after sending photo and proof of address. I feel like I should have linked my application immediately once immigration started processing my application 6 months ago.

  1. We received your application for permanent residence on March XX, 2020.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April XX, 2021.
  3. We started processing your application on April XX, 2021.
  4. Medical results have been received.
  5. We sent you correspondence on May XX, 2021 about the decision on your application.
  6. You entered Canada at the Etobicoke IRCC office on August XX, 2021 and became a Permanent Resident.

They started processing my application in February.
