I lived in Ontario for 2 years and now I am planning to move out to saskatchewan on my PGWP...But let me tell you something, Ontario is the most multicultural place in Canada....If you are planning to head out west than go to saskatchewan atleast its easier for your to apply for PR afterwards..

Hi,

I'm not sure nor can I advice you the likely implications of changing or dropping your current course right now, when the course has already started. I'm sure you can leave it... but you have to keep in mind 2 things: 1. How will it affect your current visa status and 2. You will most probably get no refund for the 1st sem fees paid to Centennial college.
Of course, your main issue will be the visa status being affected once you leave/drop your current course. You need to talk to a Canadian immigration lawyer asap and CIC as well to know various options available to you.

What I know, is that... if one needs to change their course form 1 level to another..i.e like in your case from PG level to UG diploma level.. which people usually try to do BEFORE the start of the current course, where they take admission to the UG course of their choice, while being in their country, enter Canada on the PG course (to get visa and often avoid study mismatch), and then with the offer letter of that UG/diploma course apply for change of visa condition to CPC Alberta. If change of condition to your visa is approved, then one can withdraw admission from the current PG course and join the UG/diploma course. You have to keep in mind, that if the visa condition change is not approved, one will be allowed to continue their current PG course. Unfortunately, you are already too late for this, and you should have prepared for this (like taking admission to the UG course simultaneously just before entering Canada).

So, now unless you know for sure... how your visa condition will be affected... I would highly reccomend not to drop the current PG course in between. But, if you are sure after consulting with a lawyer and asking CIC(if possible), that there may be a way for you to apply for a change in visa condition to CPC Alberta, next sem (Sept 2012..after dropping this course) in a diploma course..then go for it. Because later you should not put yourself in a bad situation and be stuck in a limbo of not getting permission to join a diploma course..and on other hand leaving this PG course. You will be nowhere. So, you need to make an informed decision very carefully, after consulting an immigration lawyer.

Regarding 2 years Bow valley college Business diploma.. It IS NOT A RECOGNIZED PARTICIPATING COURSE IN PGWP. So, after pursuing that course..You will not be able to apply for a PGWP. So, Select a Canadian 2 years Business diploma course/college which is a recognized participating educational institute in PGWP. Here's the list on offical CIC site:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/institutions/participants.asp

Best of Luck.

You are just there..and already want to take a break?
Anyways, enquire with international office of Centennial college. They can guide you best regarding this.

Hi
I came to Canada on International business management (post grad) course at George brown college and after arriving here i have shifted my course to Global business management(post grad) at centennial college. As per my study permit field of study mentioned is any post secondary and bonded=no. My problem is i want to move to Alberta with my boyfriend to Bow valley college-Business administration course(UG).The course has to be finished in four straight semesters with no gap ..Is it possible to move to Alberta and will i still get a 3 year work permit..please reply..

Thanks in advance

Re: tiger007,enfield,......toronto vs calgaryregular

Tiger007, is this the regular procedure to change levels of study before commencement of the first college? I too plan to change my level of study from college (PG one year) to university (masters 2 years)....if I get an offer before I leave.....should I follow the same procedure of applying for change of condition to CPC Alberta, take approval and then change or can I simply change and later apply for an extension of study permit as mentioned in the CIC web site? Kindly advise.
