Hello,
I have got an admission offer from University of Waterloo will full scholarship and I have applied for a Study Permit. However, I also have a PR application going at CHC Singapore. We were asked to pay for PR fee and also carry out DNA test to prove parent child relation. The both were paid last October. However, no response CHC as of now. What should I do? I am worried about the study permit. Should I mail CHC in regards to my PR application about my admission ? What are my chances of getting the student visa? It's my dream to study at Waterloo :(

Hi,
I already replied on the other thread you started.
Nevertheless, I repeat once again:

Congrats on getting admission with full funding at Univ. of Waterloo.

Provided, the visa application is in order you are almost assured of the study permit.

There is no co-relation between your study permit and PR application. One is absolutely Independent of the other and both Study permit and PR... you may or may not get on set parameters of that specific category. So, do not worry about PR application affecting your study permit application.

You may or may not choose to inquire about the status of your PR application with the CHC in Singapore. It's up to you. However, I will reccomend... wait for some time... about your study permit application. It usually takes 45 days in Singapore, for the decision on the study visa applicaiton.

So, wait... for atleast 45 days..and see..if the study visa arrives or not.. then you may inquire about it. In the meantime, you may inquire about your PR application, by providing all the details of your PR application. No need to mention about your application for study permit on the same email about PR application.... as both are independent of each other, and you should keep it that way.

Hope it helps.

Best of Luck.

Thank you so much. I feel better. I applied through VFS and provided they don't touch my application, I am confident I have provided everything and wrote a strong SOP as well. I hope I get it.

I didnot show much of ties to my home country, like property evaluation or anything. As a backup sponsor I showed my brother who is sponsoring us for the PR. My dad died and my mom doesn't earn. Was it fine?

Hi,
I'm sure... requirements for citizens of Singapore are not that stringent as compared to those for citizens of South Asian countries, Philippines etc. Besides, you've a full ride to Waterloo. Don't worry... you have shown more than enough proof for home ties, considering you are a citizen of a developed country!
