Howdy Everyone,

Ok, my three questions. I am going to be sponsoring my wife and her son from the Philippines, I am in Canada (Citizen by birth)

1) Should all of the forms and supporting documents be submitted at the same time as one package? My application set, her application set, supporting documents etc. all of it in one package to Mississauga?

2) The "Fees", this is an application ($75.00 fee to Sponsor), for my wife ($475.00 to apply), for her 4 year old son ($75.00) + $490.00 PRR fee? I think that is all of them? so 75+475+75+490= $1115.00 all inclusive for fees by my estimation (?)

3) Submitting pictures Names and dates on the back should be sufficient (unless I am purposely trying to draw attention to a specific detail in the photo of course)

Thanks to everyone who has helped me with answers so far! it has been greatly appreciated, one day I hope I can return it for someone else.

Dan

question 1) yes all forms should be submitted together at once. if not there will be a dely and most likely your application will be sent back to you.
2) that sounds about right. but i dont know for sure if you need to pay a PRR fee for your wife and her son. or just one fee. so i cant help you with that question. sorry.

3) when we submitted our pictures we were told its a good idea to put names, dates and a one line sentence telling what the picture is of.

hope that helps!
good luck!!

No we did not get a letter from her ex, he is MIA and on the child's Birth Certificate and Passport the Father is listed as Unknown. Kind of hard to get a letter from someone who is missing in action and "unknown".

Leisa P, - I assumed only one PRR fee as the on line version of the guide has a note ---

"Note: Dependent children are exempt from paying the Right of Permanent Residence fee."

But I have been proven wrong before with things that would seem so simple and straight forward :)

Thanks Guys!

I think if the father is not listed on the birth certificate you should be fine, like you said there is not proof of father, so they are not involved in the childs life.
oh okay great! than the fees sounds right to me. thats about what we paid aswell.

good luck!
