A friend of mine has three TRV applications. She wanted to cancel two. Does she have a genuine case? The TRV is taking too long and wanted to reapply when processing times got shorter. Will this add her chances?

Why does she have three TRV applications at the same time? Processing times are the same for each application. Not sure how it can add to her chances. She can withdraw two but if processing has begun she doesn’t get a refund.

So she applied to visit a friend and then another conference but realised that she applied to the wrong conference. So she wants to withdraw that new one and apply using the invitation for the new conference.

Ok. Assume the conference is essential to her work, is international, and she has attended such conferences before. Conference are not a great reason to come tO Canada if she also has another TRV to visit a friend. Is attending the conference genuine? Where is she from? Having one for visiting and one for conference makes no sense.

She’s from the UK at a reputable university. She also has a PhD. It was coincidence. She applied last year to visit and the conference came to her notice. She thought the old application will be withdrawn automatically after she reapplied but unfortunately it wasn’t.

Processing from UK is almost a year so she should not be applying to attend a conference that is in 2024. She can withdraw applications, and start the process again.
