apply the work permit and restoration with it's necessary info and requirements according to instructions and checklists and have the following docs your employer should provide you:
1. job offer letter under your name
2. job contact signed by you and the employer
3. LMO filed date and file number (HRSDC) if your employer really applied.

if your LMO will be released before the deadline of your grace period of 90 days; you are saved by the bell to avail what you are applying simply the actual LMO proved your file that there is really a positive LMO approved that you are now ready to submit.

where are you located? maybe browse double time and look for online ad jobs with ready LMO. if you can find, apply and apply then file and file to save all your necks from ax....

@ Out, Thank you,

We live in Mdicine Hat. Alberta, and the reason we are in this mess is that an employer told us that they were dealing with the LMO, (which we had been asking about since January) when in fact they had done nothing which we discovered only after we had submitted the request to extend our visas back in March, obviously CIC refused the visa, the company have since filed an appication for an LMO but no news yet, so my husband found another job and their LMO is is waiting to be processed file number ssued on June 20, I have been reading to see others timelines and they all see to vary.

there's no way that you can apply for work permit if the LMO was just filed less than a month ago and you've got barely 30 days to have restoration...what jobs you were in and so with your husband?maybe anybody who reads this may have a compassionate heart to help you and your family that already here and very much affected to the situation you are in...

TO ANYONE WHO CAN READ THIS; PLEASE HELP TO FIND SCARYCLARE IMMEDIATE JOB WITH LMO TO APPLY TO SAVE THEIR SHIP...!

@ out,Thank you,

My husband came over as a long haul truck driver so as a spouse of a long haul truck driver there is a pilot scheme in Alberta that allows spouses of truck drivers an open work permit which is why I got my work visa. Back in the Uk he worked in utilities and roads and his new employer who received the file number on the 20 June is offering him a job in that industry which is classed as NOc level B so I will also be allowed to apply for my open work permit. I have contacted my MLA and they are trying to help too and I have also written to Jason kenney. This is all down to my husbands employer not telling us the truth at the start of the year. We have 2 children aged 15 and 11, and gave up everything to come here,

There really should be stiff penalties for employers who do this sort of thing. If you don't have the LMO within a few weeks to the end of the restoration period, you should apply for the work permit and restoration and use the HRSDC file # as proof of LMO application.

Have you guys looked into the possible of changing your status to visitors as you wait for the LMO?

@SenoritaBella

I totally agree with you, I think that we will apply within the next 2 weeks for Visitor Status because we obviously don't want to risk applying for restoration as a worker and it being rejected straight away without a positive LMO because I don't know if CIC will hold the application for 2 months like they did when we first applied for the extension when our work visas were still valid, as obviously when we apply we will be near the very end if the restoration period. What a mess
