Thanks mmhughes - right back at you!
I have a couple of questions for all those that have landed.
1) When writing out the list of goods to accompany you and those that'll come later, do you use the B4 document for both (separate) lists?
and
2) Do we need to show a proof of funds, or is this just for skilled workers, etc.?
Thanks.
Sorry for the delay! Yes - I had to fill out a list of goods (B4 if I remember correctly) as I was shipping a bunch of things via sea. I did this beforehand using the shipment company's form but when I went through customs at the airport the super nice (and I'm being sincere and not sarcastic) customs officer filled out another form by just copying what was on mine. And no need to prove your funds if you are a spouse.

If you are shipping anything by sea just drop me a line because I have had to go through the process twice now! We had two loads.

We just got an update on ecase. Strange for it to happen on a Sunday and we are not sure if it is a good or bad sign.
"A decision has been made on Enrique Javier Barrios Ukles's application. The office will contact Enrique Javier Barrios Ukles concerning this decision."
They received his passport and additional information that they requested last month. I am hoping this means they made a favorable decision and his passport is being stamped.
What happens now? Should we expect a communication from them soon?

So they asked you for a passport BEFORE they made a decision?

Yes they had asked for his passport and some additional information and they received that probably last month. Our medicals were done June of last year. So all is done.

In my case, the passport was asked for after they told me by email that the visa was ready for issue. However, my ecas didn't change to decision made until I already had my passport back at home, everything finished!

Don't bother trying to analyse ecas. I think that they asked for additional info is a good sign, and I'm guessing you'll have a letter/email soon :)

Goodluck!

I know you are right. Waiting is not my strong suite and you have to be able to wait when it comes to immigration. Thanks

Great News! My husband just got an e-mail telling him his visa is ready for pick up or delivery. We are so excited.

We could not sleep last night. There seems to be so much to do as well. I didn't want to make plans before because we had heard horror stories about our embassy and that they take a very long time but it was under 8 months. Yeah!!

Yeah, I was thinking you were quick for your embassy. Well, that's great! Now if only my embassy went through my husband's file so quickly too....

We got our VISA today!!! :D

Congrats! Lots of good news.

anyone else have a baby while waiting for a decision?

It looks like I need to apply for a certificate of Canadian citizenship for the baby (which takes 8-10 months!!!) before I can apply for her passport... does this mean another year of waiting :'( ? Or is there a way around this? My visa to Thailand runs out in December, and while I can probably get another, nothing is assured.
-If for some reason I CAN'T get another Thai visa, will I have to go back to Canada, leaving my daughter here with her mother?
-In my situation, what would happen if leaving my baby here were impossible (say, if her mother had passed away or deserted the child)?

:) :) Hello everyone , just want to share with you that my wife has got her Visa and passport returned by the Canadian embassy in Phil last february 26. Her ticket was ready by March and thanks to God , she is here with me now. By the way , she has landed on April 15, 2011.

We are waiting for the PR card that will arrive sometime this month or early June.
Goodluck to everyone who are still waiting for their visa and yes their loved ones. God bless us all.
