I've heard of a lot of people confirming that their sponsorship has been approved by doing this. When does your eCAS say the decision was approved? I'd like to add that date to our table to keep tracking

It doesn't say when the decision was approved. When I clicked on the decision made it only said when they received my application and when they sent the letter. I'll try calling them tomorrrow.

I submitted my husband's application a few weeks ago and it was received September 27th in Mississauga. We are applying as a separated couple and my husband is from the UK.

Has anybody received notice whether or not they have been accepted as a sponsor yet? How long is the average waiting period?

I forgot to ask. Will they send me any correspondence informing me if they received our application with a client number? I would like to check my status on line but I am guessing I need a special number or something.

The average waiting period right now for sponsorship approval is 27 days. The first applicants of this thread should strt receiving their sponsorship approvals this week.
They won't send you any confirmation that they have received your application, however, you should be able to check your sponsorship approval as "Decision made" on eCAS using your receipt number and your sponsor's information.

Out of curiosity, what are people using for eCAS? We have been checking with my partners client ID number, but from reading some of the things on the forum it sounds like they assign a separate client ID number for the sponsor (me in this case). What about using the receipt number? Also who's name should I be putting in... the applicant or the sponsor?

I'm the sponsor and I don't have a client id yet so I'm using my receipt # at the moment and my details, so you might do the same

Aroundtown22: You should try to log on eCAS with your sponsor's info and your receipt number. Later on, they will give you a Client ID and you will use your (applicant's) info

cezvi: Have you had the chance to contact CIC yet? I'm so curious to know if you have been approved, good luck! Let us know, this is good news for everyone!

applied03: Only one sponsorship approval this month It has been pretty quiet in this thread this first October week, but it should get busier in the next days

Hi applied03! You should be hearing news pretty soon! I heard they update eCAS every Tuesday, some people say they update it some time during the day, some people say sometimes they update it at midnight

@bonbon9: I wasn't able to speak with a CIC agent the lines were busy throughout the day so no such luck finding out about that decision made. Guess I'll just have to wait for that letter..

FYI, CIC has a certain amount of quede calls it can accept and is overloaded when you get the busy message. If you keep calling over and over, you will eventually get lucky and get through. It normally takes me 5-10 minutes of this. Also, towards the end of the day 3-4pm EST it becomes easier or later in the week. If you want to get through and your determined, no problem.

Are the CIC people grumpy when you call? I suppose it'd be like calling the post office, Department of Motor Vehicles, or the IRS.
