If i remember good he is coming to Qc right? I would love to hear about the way he did! (Toronto and customs and everything!) I asked this week when i went to MICC and they said noooo he will come pass the customs in Mtl.. mm.. i dont know about that! lol cannot wait to hear news from you!! And good luck for the final days You are finally there! ;D

Well, Somebody told me that he was gonna pass the customs in Toronto and get is PR validation there, because he will get to Canada from Toronto. The flight to Montreal is considered as a domestic flight, which means that he'll need to get his luggage in Toronto, just like we do when we transit to the US.

Did the MIcc guy told you that he could not pass threw Toronto to get to Mtl? I mean.. d'uh?!! Maybe I'll Call tomorrow to get some more infos about it.. ?? There is no direct flight to Montreal, and it was an horrible headache to get his US visa..

Yeah.. i asked that girl cause when i make a transit through NY i dont need to pass the custom, but through Miami yes.. so i didnt really know. She talked to me like if i was stupid telling her it was a domestic flight and that he would probably pass the customs in Toronto. She just answered: No. he will pass it in Montreal cause he is coming to MTl. lol.. so i said ok thanks (thinking that i would call instead another time..) But dont worry im sure there is no problem passing through Toronto. For me, i was just wondering about what they say on the website (that the new PR has to stop by Immigration Qc office in MTl when landing..) Anyways! He will enter the country and that is the important i guess.. lol Ill give them a call the day my husband get the visa..

my husband also had a mistake on his confirmation and they just wrote over it , it was only the address that ws wrong. Also my hubby was on the plane with people comming into toronto the mtl!!

Hi sorry for the delay in writing we were fixing his COPR which we got today! All is good to go and flight is booked for June 29.

Thought I'd share our timeline and hope it brings hope to some of you I know the process sucks and waiting is the worst!

Feb 24 application arrived in CPC M
March 24 approved as sponsor (no letter received saying such)
April 4 arrives in Guatemala
AOR April 13 (letter arrives may 6)
Passport requested May 10 with additional documents (hand delivered may 12)
Visa given May 25
May 29 saw ecas said decision made
Embassy contacted May 31 that visa was ready
Passport and documents picked up June 1 (wrong name and info on COPR)
June 9 correct landing document received


Plane ticket booked for June 29, fingers crossed

My husband is Guatemalan and our daughter is Canadian, we are counting our blessing for fast processing times!

I post the same on the February thread,

A quick update of my wife application status;
She received a e-mail from the Guatemala embassy on May26, with an attachment marked in the box for: passport (after the meds are done, but she sent meds, done on Jan2011, with the application), also for the original of Divorce Decree from sponsor. I was visiting her at the time of the e-mail, we didn't expect anything too soon, for this reason we didn't check for e-mails or ecas updates. we sent passport and documents on Jun7. ecas do not updated, still on we received an application on March14.

Congratulations!!! May I ask when you guys were contacted to pick up the passport? My husband sent his passport April 19th and it arrived the next day in the Guatemala embassy. We haven't gotten it back and so many others have gotten theirs and are already in Canada! I want it to be our turn. It's now been 2 months since they got his passport.

I sent my passport in march and till today still nothing am hoping visa will be issued soon, good luck for who ever is still waiting
