Plzzzz Help!!

Hi

At the time we applied (3 weeks ago) for my PR, my husband was in Toronto but now while my application is in process he may move to Quebec. The Imm Quebec website says tht all forms must be filled in French. What if some1 like me doesnt know French? Is there any option to do it in English?

Secondly, 1 of the req is to attach Sponsorship Letter. Just wondering is this the same letter tht CIC will issue aftr doing Sponsorship Evaluation of my already applied PR application? Or my husband has to apply for it again?

Any help on above is appreciated
Thanks!

The forms MUST be filled out in French.

You'll notice that they have included sample English copies of the forms to help you complete the French ones.

You will also need to attach a copy of the letter or email you received from CIC that confirms your sponsorship application was approved. If you do not include this letter/email in your application to MICC, it will be returned to you.

Well that's the whole point of the english copies, they are exactly the same format as the french one :D

So if you print off a copy of the english one, use this as a guide to help you complete the french one. If you don't know what something means when completing your form, just look at the exact same field on the specimen.

I understand that but what my confusion/problem is that i don't know how to write French. To fill in the form I should know how to write my name, address, etc in French.

Anyway thanks for your help

If you are not sure about something you could always write it here and we'll traduce for you. French is my first language so I can surely help you!

I'm just wondering that by asking ppl to fill the form in French the MICC is expecting us to be fluent in French?
Also If you are aware of any Institutes tht offer free French classes in Toronto?

Appreciate your help!

Maybe its because they think that at least the sponsor live in Québec and speak french! like my husband doesnt speak but i do.. anyway! :) For the french class i have no idea.. just i saw on Imm Quebec website's that you might take a class and pay it and then when you land you might ask for a refund of that money up to 1000$ i think.. but check out the website and you'll know more!

hope it helps!

Hi - I am just getting ready to apply outland for Quebec immigration (we are both in the US, I am sponsoring my common-law spouse). I realize I have to send in the package to Mississauga first to get approved as a sponsor. The document checklist says I must send in the application with medical exam and police clearance. But the FBI website says that it takes 16-18 weeks to get the clearance letter. Do I have to wait for that to be completed and in hand before starting the application process? If anyone can provide me advice on what the order and timing of document submission is, such as when to get the medical in relation to the application for the police clearance etc. I would really appreciate it. I am reading on this site that these things expire, so I don't want to do them and then have to redo them in a few months. Thank you!!

Hi all, new poster here!

My wife and I have been together since September of 2009, we just got married last month and are now looking to start the sponsorship process for PR (I am a United States citizen, my wife is Canadian).

I'm currently visiting with her in Quebec and have been for over a year now (with TRV) and am a little confused on the process for Quebec, though this thread has been a great help!

If anyone could clarify/confirm a few things for me, it would be much appreciated!

In a very helpful post by Darque on page 5 of this thread, it is stated:

Darque said:
CIC (Canada) and MICC (Quebec) are two different "stages"

Stage 1

You send your initial application, PR application and supporting evidence to Mississauga. After 40 days or so, you will get approved and receive an email or letter confirming this. This letter will contain your Client ID number.

Stage 2

You need a copy of this email (or letter) to send with your undertaking & CSQ applications to MICC. After 20 days or so, you will get approved. They will inform the visa office abroad and mail you the CSQ.

Then...

Visa office processes PR application, requests passport and issues visa.
Just to be sure I'm reading this correctly...I don't have to send anything in Stage 1 to MICC, correct? Nothing goes to MICC until I receive the sponsorship approval from Mississauga? Only once I receive that, we are to send off the undertaking and CSQ apps to MICC?

Also, do I have to complete medical checks/police reports, etc in the US -before- Stage 1 above? Or can this be done later in the process?

Also someone mentioned this a little earlier but I'm not 100% sure I am reading it right...do ALL forms sent to MICC have to be completed in French (ie, we must write in French on the forms), or we simply must fill out the French version of the form and we can write in English?

Thank you in advance!

Correct, we received an email from Mississauga advising us that we had been approved for sponsorship and we should now send our application to Montreal for the CSQ

Also, do I have to complete medical checks/police reports, etc in the US -before- Stage 1 above? Or can this be done later in the process?

That all has to be done before and sent with your app to Mississauga

Everything has to be entered in French, luckily my girlfriend speaks french otherwise I would have been lost, the letter they also send out when you get approved is completely in French. Not surprising really but kind of funny.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Crillz for the fast, informative response!

I've read multiple things on different threads and forums before on this topic as well; it -is- possible to apply Outland (through Buffalo) and visit Canada while your application is in process, correct? Can you send the Outland application from within Canada or do you have to leave to do so and then return as a visitor while it is being processed?

Well I entered Canada in January 25th, just here as a visitor staying with my girlfriend. We spent the 2 weeks after getting back to Canada getting the app finished up and sent it February 14th, and received our passport request from London a few weeks ago. So yeah I applied outland and I was in Canada the entire time. Lots of others on here have done the same, it's not a problem.

Great, thanks :)

Also another question! While looking into making an appointment for a medical exam with a DMP, and I was confused to read on their documentation that they will mail the documents directly to the immigration department- what happens if CIC receives this information before I send my application package? I know there is form IMM 1017 (from what I understand, Copy 2 is obtained from the DMP following the exam, you do not have to bring it with you to the exam- please correct me if I'm wrong) which must be included in the application package, but is that all?

The reason I ask is that once I complete the medical exam, I will still be waiting on the police clearance/police certificate before sending my application package. Will it matter if the DMP office sends the medical results to CIC (or as their documentation states, "the Immigration Dept.") before I send my application package? Do I have to wait until after I receive police clearance to schedule my medical exam, so that I can be sure to send the application package before the DMP transmits their results?

Sorry if this is confusing- lots of information!
