This is so frustrating. We received pre-arrival email on 31 Oct and are still waiting for approvals. There is no rhyme or reason to how/when they approve. Others who submitted after us have already received approval. I'm debating on whether or not request our case notes and maybe that will light a fire under someone.

It won't. LVO is slow.

SO. Frustrating. We received pre-arrival services the same day as you, ECAS updated three days later, and we haven't heard a word since. It's also 34 days since we ordered our case file notes and not a word.

On that note, does anyone know how the case file notes are sent out? Is it by email? If we used a consultant but ordered the notes personally, will they come directly to me, or be sent to the consultant? I provided my email address when requesting them and asked that they send them to me directly.

I believe the case notes are sent electronically if you selected that option. I remember when I was looking through it, I thought I saw that option in the drop down of the "how would you like to receive your notes". I would imagine they come straight to you because you're the one making the request. I can't imagine they would send them to your consultant.

By the way, our ECAS was updated almost at the same time as yours to say Decision Made and the background check started but nothing since then too. So frustrating!!

Does anyone know how to submit a status request following a GCMS notes request? I ordered mine 35 days ago and haven't received them yet.

Also, a week after ordering them we received the pre-arrival services email and two days after that we got DM on ECAS. We don't have access to GC-Key because we used a rep and he is being less than helpful and won't check it and pass any info on to us. :eek:/ It's been 22 days since we go DM and we haven't heard anything further. Is this normal? We were hoping to book flights back to the UK for New Years to wrap things up over there, but are hesitant to do so until we receive CoPR...

I'm actually considering ordering a new set of GCMS notes to see if we can learn anything from that....

I've been reading posts from people on the FB page saying it's taken them upwards of 3-8 weeks to get CoPR after DM status updates. And apparently there was a postal strike in Ontario last week as well which has pushed back all of the post by a further 2 weeks. But the majority of people said it took them just a little over a month to get CoPR after they got DM status on ECAS.

There is a rotating postal strike in Canada for the past few months which has made the mail a few days later than usual, I would say.

But I had assumed that, because we are dealing with London Visa Office, the COPR would mailed from there and not Canada...and because it’s going to a uk address, I didn’t think it would be impacted by the strike.

Maybe I’m wrong about LVO sending it out. Does anyone know? The British mail system is usually excellent.

Yay!!! We finally got our approval letter yesterday!!! COPR has been granted! The letter arrived via CIC email and now waiting for the paper version in the post. Woooohooo!!!!

We got our paper COPR on Tuesday the 27th! Now to get everything sold off and get packing!

Question for everyone. We have a holiday booked to the US (bad timing, I know but it's a big birthday bash for a family member so couldn't really be helped), for the end of January. We were originally going to go to T.O., then fly out for the vacation and then fly back to T.O. But I've read that it won't be possible to do that because the PA won't have his PR card at that point and if he leaves Canada he won't be able to come back in.

Now I'm looking into booking a flight from London to the US then from the US to Canada as the initial entry. Friends are telling me that's not a great idea because the US crossing isn't great for Immigration entry.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on this?
