Hi,

I have question. Can you check your ecas status by using your FILE NUMBER that London office sent me? I was wondering they might have more uptodate info about my case.

Regards

Naz

Yes you can submit it person. Service in person is open Thursdays 2pm to 3pm. It takes 2 weeks and you can collect your passport on second Thursday after submitting your package.

Thats pretty much what it tells in passport request.

hope this helps, if im wrong someone should correct me :)

Hello everyone

I am new to this and have a question that's hopefully not too daft! I'm trying to get my immigration photos taken for the visa but the only problem is everywhere I've been to so far only provide the standard GREY background required for UK passports and nobody seems to take photos on a WHITE background as specified in Appendix B.

Has anyone else had this problem and can you suggest anywhere that provides a WHITE background.

I live in Scotland - it seems they don't make it easy for anyone to leave! ???

Thank you :)

Do you have a Jessops anywhere near you? We had all our passport/citizenship card/PR ones done at ours. Really good value too...my sister went to a local photographer and spent more than double what we paid !

Hi Canooknic, thank you so much for the tip. I hadn't thought about Jessops, and yes, I have one nearby. And great news too that they are really good value... I shall pay them a visit tomorrow :D

Update for me, I landed on 25th February via Sweetgrass, Montana, and it was very simple and easy and took all of about 15 mins. I was a bit nervous but it was a bit anti climatic really. After telling American immigration I wanted to flagpole, they gave me a piece of paper and sent me back to Canada immigration and then went inside where I went to immigration section of the Canadian border.

There was no one else waiting, I gave the IO my passport and Corp which is the other doc I got sent from London then they told me to wait for about 5 mins when she did some stuff on the computer and then asked me to confirm my name was all spelt right and asked me for an address for my card to be sent to and checked I was the principal applicant and didn't have any dependants or any other husbands (I said no, one was enough - LOL).

Then I had to sign it twice, she stapled one of the sheets to my passport and sent me over to another person where I filled out my goods to follow list (I didn't take one with me) and that was done in 2 mins and that was it.

All up took about 15 mins and that was it. Said I should apply for my SIN and will have PR card within about 4 weeks although it says 90 days. I have been working on getting the rest of my docs through now, have applied for Heathcare, got my temporary driving licence, just waiting for my Alberta licence to come through now and will be applying for SIN on Monday.

It looks like things are moving quite quickly through London at the moment, so good luck for everyone who is still waiting and great landing for those who are just waiting for that now!

I received an email today from ecas tracker saying my file had been updated. It said COMPLETE!!?? How can it be complete, heres what it said:

We received XXX application for permanent residence on December 9, 2010.

We started processing XXX application on February 23, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on XXX application. The office will contact XXX concerning this decision.

Now there is no email to me our my spouse from immigration.. Does that mean, we have potentially been outright denied? Does it mean that they wouldnt even interview us? Does it mean that i just sit and wait for canada post to send a letter ARGGHHHH... can anyone help settle my nerves x

Don't worry. This e-cas update means you have been successful. London don't seem to send letters but will email you to the applicant's email address if provided. This can take a while, so be patient. It will give you your file number and instructions on how to submit your passport. My email took more than a week to arrive after the e-cas update..... Congratulations, you've done it!

i really really hope you are right...im not quite cracking open the champagne until i get the email lol!! x

That sounds like good news to me! I think congratulations are in order!! Seems funny to get an email on a Sunday but I am glad you did. Maybe they are putting some overtime in!! Crack open the champagne because I doubt it could be bad news without contacting you for more info or interview. Brilliant news!
