Quick update - wife did a flagpole this past weekend at Niagara and everything went pretty well

A question regarding 'goods to follow' on landing - the customs guy seemed to think that a few boxes of personal items that my wife left back in the UK needn't be classified as goods to follow since they would be covered as part of any personal allowance, so he put down "No Goods To Follow" on her entry stamp.

What about things like her pension / savings being transferred to Canada? We'd hate for her to have to pay taxes on any savings / pensions that get brought to Canada just because a customs guy was being grumpy that day.

You won't have a problem with pensions etc ... Just remember when coming into the country weather a PR or a Canadian citizen or a visitor you must tick yes to $10,000 or over.

After getting DM yesterday, this morning I received an email asking for the RPRF.

I have already paid this around a week ago and I informed them on Saturday of this.

Was this sent in error or did they give me DM without the full payment?

I'll be sending them a copy of the receipt to CPC Mississauga, which is where they have asked for it. Is there anywhere else I should try sending it?

Thanks Andrew. We're planning on living in Hanson Ranch/Panorama area as my wife's family live there. I know the economy in Alberta is being hit at the moment due to the oil price but hoping to get a good deal on a house in the current buyers market before the upturn. How have you found the job situation?

Generally when they ask for RPRF they say something like "if you have not already paid".

Just send them a copy of the fee receipt to the email address/postal address that they included in the request.

Well we had good news today My Husband received his papers. The were posted out of London on the 11th Dec and he has to land by 2016/08/05

Come on Andrew!! The mail lady delivered to the door with a signature required , she was crying with us this morning 20 months later and its done.

YES! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

Lets hope my papers were sent out at the same time as you. Mine have to travel a bit further, I assume that yours would have been sent to somewhere in Ontario - I am not sure how post works here, but lets hope yours went to say Toronto and mine were sent to Calgary directly, rather than both going to Toronto and then on another plane or some other form of transport to Calgary.

Anyway, congratulations! You have waited so long, good luck with your landing, when will you go to the border?

Best Christmas present ever! My post normally comes around 3-4pm so I will be on edge all day now!

I even put a note on my door telling her to ring the bell or leave with neighbor. I didn't want to have to wait till the next day to go pick it up .... Looking forward to 3 or 4pm will be waiting for the good news..
