Hi, Just for info for those of you that are not on the British Expats forum....

We got DM But its not good news i'm afraid. :'( I have been refused PR on the grounds that he (the officer) feels that we don't meet the requirements for Conjugal Partner.
We have been given the right to appeal, and we are preparing our application of appeal.
We have 30 days in which to appeal.
We do intend on appealing, as we feel we have a case, however should that fail, then like many of you already have - we will marry and then apply again.
I will stay online on these forums and update you how we progress.

Yeah I posted on BE but just so people do not think I missed this, sorry to hear that. Spreadsheet has been updated.

I do not know much about the appeal but I think it takes a long time?

Don't bother appealing. It will cost thousands of dollars, take several years and there is a good chance of it ending in dismissal. Canadian-British couples really don't qualify for Conjugal.

Get married and submit a brand new app.

DMinty, so sorry about this. Wish you all the best in your appeal.

Just a thought, LVO seems to be moving fast on 2015 applications, so should you think of getting married and re applying as a married couple then you might not have to wait too long for PR. IMHO.

I've just received the dreaded addict all documents request. I've been asked to declare criminal cautions f on when I was 16 years of age. Do I need to get this in writing from a police station or can I write it on a piece of paper? Also, I've been asked to provide documentation proving that my sponsor wants to return to Canada! We're already here and the sent the letter to my home address. Will my children's school report/ car insurance/payslips/nursing transcripts/doctors letters be enough to show that we intend to be here? Any help is greatly appreciated in what has turned out to be one hell of a nightmare. If my application has been in process since February why has it taken them to mow to request this?

OK, so weird, I received my passport request document via email a few days ago and I was over the moon. I'm just about to send off my passport photocopy, new photos and the form attached and then arrives my COPR in the mail!

Am I missing something here? Isn't that supposed to come after they receive the documents?

I really feel like Trudeau's government is getting on this but I might be wrong considering this is the London VO?

Is there a time limit CIC has to follow after you go IP? or could you technically be in process for months and months?

It has been a very long journey waiting and finally I got my DM followed by COPR within few days.
Am using this opportunity to say a very big THANK YOU to every one on this forum as this forum has been one of the greatest ones I have come across and it is so exciting to know there are so many helpful people out there who have sacrificed their time and efforts in ensuring that the Spread sheet is updated every now and then, I appreciate you all.
To those who are still waiting for DM, COPR, I pray it comes very quickly so that you can all be with your love ones.
I am so addicted to this forum, so i will still be sharing ideas etc. My COPR is valid for one year but will let you guys know my travel plans.
Taffy- you are next :)
Andrew- You will hear the good news very soon, Keep the hard work :) :)
From the bottom of my heart, i wish everyone good luck :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi everyone,

Quick question :

Do you think if I send CIC an e-mail asking for an update it is likely to slow down the application in any way?

I just wonder if they "punish" you if you ask for updates before the 9 months of In Process mark. I'm at 6 months.

Cheers

No point what so ever . Send away for your notes and you can see what is going on from there.

Thanks,

I have not done this yet. I know to use this : https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=london

Would I just ask for notes in the enquiry section? I may say, just checking to see if any requests for additional documents or proof has been requested that we have not received or other contact that may have slipped through.

Thanks again. Being super paranoid on how to do anything!

Hey guys sorry, I didn't get a reply from my last question so forgive me for posting again!

If I get a passport request and a COPR at the same time should I still send the London VO my documents? Seems like they don't actually need them but I don't want to miss anything.

prairiegirl22: Thanks, spreadsheet updated. All the best with your landing.

Beal Feirste: Do you have any convictions since you were 16? If so did these show up on your police clearance certificate? Yes the proof you mentioned for proving sponsor's intent is good. If you have a lease/mortgage include that too.

jonnylad: Another user (Spud85, an October 2014 applicant) received COPR and then got the same request after you. I advised him to email London and ask what the deal is. You should do the same. I am not sure if Sud85 has heard anything back from London.

CanadaCanary: No it should not slow your application down but you are still well within the average processing time so I doubt they have anything of note to tell you. To order notes you do not do so via a CSE but rather through this page.
