Hi all,

Update for the spreadsheets – decision made on 30th October 2015, noticed on ECAS on the 2nd November. Received an email advising visa is ready for issuance and asking for photocopy of passport, updated information sheet and 2 photos. Sent that off and now patiently waiting for the COPR to arrive so I know the deadline by which I have to land!

We are in London, UK and originally applied through London but were being processed in Ottawa, so my guess would be they asked for the photos as they either lost the ones I originally sent or they couldn’t be bothered sending them to London from Ottawa.

Slight concern is my medical expired on the 8/9th October and I was not asked for a new one or advised that it would be renewed. All this means is I have no idea what date my COPR will be valid too. What are other people’s experiences with this?

We also had a couple of information requests which probably delayed us by a month or so. We got married in June and duly advised the visa office and sent an electronic copy of the marriage certificate. We received an email a couple of months later from Ottawa saying that it appears we got married and could we please send them the marriage certificate. Resent the marriage certificate and then received another email saying they could not open the file and could we resend. This was early/mid October at which point we sent the original by courier and about 10 electronic copies. Ordered notes around the same time which showed a date for our application to be revisited of 31st October 2015. Pretty much bang on that date we had DM so they finally seem to have got it!

So excited to hopefully be near the end of this process. Will let you know when COPR arrives and good luck to all those still waiting!

Andrew-Brit, Can I just ask? Are the applications on the spreadsheet a combination of inland and outland apps? If this is the case, is there not a significant difference between the processing times for inland and outland? I am just speculating as to whether or not some might be taking longer than others due to being outland or inland............

Thanks :)

The spreadsheet is titled "Timeline for Family Class Sponsorship via London". Only outland applications are processed in London - inland applications stay in Canada.

Sure...my point was that its not a public holiday throughout Canada so i think they shouldnt be closed.... just an opinion...

Hi Mary23,

Have you ordered notes or contacted with your MP to inquire your case status?

COPR just arrived today by Royal Mail. So should be booking flights in the next day or two and landing by Christmas.

Took a total of 7 months and 11 days from the time we posted the application to COPR arriving.

Thank you to everyone for your help over the months and good luck and speedy processing for those still waiting.

I live in Ontario. Its not a public holiday here.

Not true...I live in Ontario and have today off because our office is closed for Remembrance Day and I'm not a government employee

We received a letter from CIC today stating the below:

"These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage where medical examination results are now required." and it goes on with instructions and the list of panel physicians.

We did a medical in February 2015, 2 weeks prior to submitting our application. We submitted the receipt or whatever it was the physician gave us as record. Do you think they are requesting another medical because that was 10 months ago or that they have not received our initial medical?

Any advice?

colmlor, Szymon, Tvgt and Lierdoc: spreadsheet updated.

Lierdoc - I suggest replying to the email with a scanned copy of the medical info sheet (the receipt the doctor's office gave you) and ask if this is sufficient as it is valid until Feb 2016.

Hi we had email from london today stating that we only proved we lived together from march 2014 to sept 2014 after then we moved in with my future mother in law, if we get a lease done from this family member will this count as proof. we have a letter from her stating that we live there from her which we sent in our original application. we have sent seperate letters as we do not pay bills. lvo said that if no supporting evidence by 30 days then it will be refused..... what next????

FYI I believe LVO is closed to mark Remembrance Day tomorrow (Nov 11th).

Why would LVO be closed today? It's a holiday here in Canada yes but it's out in the UK and everything is open and a regular day over there.

The embassy is actually classed as Canadian soil so they normally follow the same national holidays as Canada. No need to worry everyone, what is one day in over 400!

Mark we know little about your application as you are not on the spreadsheet, assuming you use the same username markareader.

If you would like to be added to the spreadsheet provide the following:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date the permanent residence status changed to In Process on ECAS
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
-Date of medical exam

Your message is not clear - you say that if we get a lease done by this family member, but then you say that you sent it in with your original application.

Either way just gather as much proof as you can (proof of you living with your sponsor from March 2014 to present, if you can).

Do you not pay any bills with both your names on it? Have you added each other to any life insurance/work health insurance, etc?

Provide copies of letters to both of you addressed to the same address, preferably showing a period of time (such as April 2014, November 2014, February 2015 etc)

hi sorry just stressed

Future mother in law sent a letter stating we were living there but it was not a lease. we can get a lease done stating we were living there and send it off. we do not have bills together as family members pay bills.

we sent lease from uk that we were staying at address together from march 2014 to sept 14 (6 month lease) then we moved to Northeren ireland to live with family which is what they want proof for.

we have a lease set up know and will send it
i will do spreadsheet now
