We've just been sent an email saying final stage of processing...etc please send two recent photographs, updated information chart and photocopy of passport...is this normal?

Also I am getting confused by the wording of where to send this, it says:

A) Submit your package to London

Address etc etc

B) Submitting photocopies of your passport in Canada:
If you are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least 3 months, you may submit photocopies of your passport to CPC-O (Ottawa)

So do I send everything to Ottawa since we are in Canada or only the photocopies of passport? And send the photos and form to London. I know that may seem like a stupid question but it's not CLEAR on this letter...

Hi Blink1ate2,

Just curious, did you send a photocopy of your passport with your original app?

Hi PubLandlord

Yep, all in the supporting documents.

Hi AndrewBrit,

I thought maybe if I just sent it all to London we would be okay? I'm not sure. They need to be more clear on their instructions.

WidnesPR and blink1ate2 spreadsheet updated.

@blink I believe you send the passport to Ottawa and the rest to London, but to cover your bases you could send the passport to Ottawa and all 3 (passport scan, photos and info chart) to London.

I wonder why some people get this request for passport scan, photos, updated info chart on the same day as DM or after, and others just get DM then visa?

Because they one doesn't know what the other hand is doing. We just want consistency if only they could give us that .

Blink1ate2 either way I think you will end up with your COPR but I would do whatever the request says, I know it is not 100% clear but work out what you think they mean and do that.

If you are going to be in Canada for 3 months then send the passport scan to Ottawa.

Heard from CIC today.

They have requested a original signed declaration of common law status and an original police clearance for my partner's country of birth. Luckily we have the original and had only sent off a copy for them as it wasn't requested, so will put the original in the post for them along with the signed declaration.

Nice to feel like they are looking at our application.

Thanks Lierdoc, spreadsheet updated.

Guys,
Just a quick update, my wife received her COPR today :) :) :)
Thanks everyone for all your advice. It's been a long process and i do hope that you all get DM soon!!

Thanks, spreadsheet updated. I wonder if there is any noticeable difference between yourself and blink1ate2 (other than when you both applied) to warrant blink being asked for the passport scan, photos, updated information and you not receiving that request.

It is interesting to me as I hope/wish I am just about there and wonder if I will get the same request.

I got a question if any of you can answer.... is requesting notes personally and contacting MP have the same outcome or not ?....

Requesting notes will give you a lot more information than asking your MP.

A set of notes will give you a lot of information which is of no real use to you, like the dates and times stuff happened on your file, the location of the file, it is basically a database dump of records which relate to your file. Notes will tell you what parts of your application have been started and passed out of eligibility, security, medical and criminality.

The MP will just summarize where your app is. They should tell you what has started on your application much like the notes, but in my opinion ordering notes is more beneficial as you get a lot of info which your MP will not.

MP's are more useful if your application is over the standard processing time. Ordering notes will not give London/any VO a push but a MP can.

I received my notes today and they make for an interesting read.

Highlights:

  • Medical has passed - extended until October 2016. The request to extend my medical was sent to Ottawa on October 17th. I was asked for countries visited and illnesses on October 15th. They included my response in their request to Ottawa. My medical was extended on October 21st. Due date is November 20th 2015
  • Eligibility has passed. Passed on October 8th. Officer added note saying they are satisfied with relationship being genuine on October 8th. Due date is November 13th 2015
  • Criminality is in progress from October 8th. A request was sent to RCMP for screening and came back on October 9th saying No Reportable Trace. Due date is October 31st 2015
  • Security has not started. Due date is October 18th 2015

In the note on October 8th the officer wrote

Eligibility passed.
Am satisfied with genuineness of relationship on basis of information in file.
Conditions do not apply.
UK pc no trace on file.
RCMP check underway pending s&c review
SB - pls request reassessment of meds

So it seems like passing eligibility kicked everything else off.

Does anyone know what else needs to be done for criminality to be passed other than a Canadian RCMP screening?

Also the 2 sections which I have passed (medical and eligibility) have a due date in the future, whereas the 2 sections I am still waiting on (criminality and security) have a due date in the past. Does anyone know if I am likely to hear by the furthest due date (November 20th) or if they will not reach a decision until after then even though that section has passed?

Hmmm, Talking of Due Dates, my notes said the due date was October 30th, 2015 in eligibility. I wonder what they are upto... *sigh*

I got a reply for a notes request today. I think I've filled in the information wrong! They said that I need to be a permanent resident, otherwise my wife cannot make a request on our file without having to pay. Anyone got a clue?

EDIT: Re-reading the email it seems like I need to supply a scan of my stamped passport to prove that I'm in Canada, or pay the $5.

I had a due date of Nov 28th but we got PPR on Nov 28th. I think you are very closed to COPR.

Are you the sponsor, and are you a Canadian citizen living in Canada?
