I need some more advice. Before, I mentioned that my COPR was waiting for me in Canada as I had it mailed to my wife. I'm in Korea.

Now, we are thinking to just have it fedexed to me. Is this ok to do?

Secondly, I'm bringing a dog with me now. My mother in law is adopting it from a Korean shelter. Is there anything special I have to do as I'm landing at same time or is it just like taking a dog into the country normally?
Yes, you can have it Fedexed.

The fact that you are landing doesn't change the process in bringing a dog.

We received DM today!

It looks like things are really speeding up in London, and I hope that all of you 2014 applicants get your responses soon.

Congrats twosteps, spreadsheet updated!

I wouldn't say London are speeding up but rather just skipping over months of applications and for some reason approving applications which were received in Mississauga in May 2015.

It could have something to do with the "new In Process", where they work on security and criminality simultaneously with eligibility - assuming Eagle333's information is correct. This new way of processing the applications supposedly started in June 2015, so it could explain the May applicants starting to get DM's now.

In any case, I do hope everyone from 2014 gets their DM very soon.

Right but there are applications which have been in London for over a year, so it is not the case that for 2014 applicants eligibility takes a year and then they start security and criminality. It is BS that they just pick and choose which applications are processed. Working on May 2015 applications makes no sense. Clear your backlog CIC, you are stopping families from being together and working which grows the economy.

That is true, and I agree that it's not fair. My theory is that the 2014 applications ended up with visa officers (possibly just one) that cares even less about the applicants than the other officers. But the May applicants getting processed before, say, March or April applicants could be due to the new processing being faster.

You are missing my point. Even if it is true that they process eligibility, security and background checks at the same time, they are still skipping over applications and choosing to process May 2015. The 3 approved in May have been approved in the order they were received. That is not by chance.

This shows that applications can be processed faster, so where have they got these new immi officers from who work more efficiently than those responsible for 2014 applications? And why start on applications received later than the backlog? Personally I have had to wait almost a year to go In Process and I have been IP for over 2 months.

my guess is a cynical (and arguably racist) one: anytime i've told anyone of the 28 month processing time for the LVO - and yes, i have said it's an average and due to a backlog of applications - the response has been along the lines of, "from one Commonwealth country to another? that makes no sense!" so my guess is that someone from higher up the food chain in CIC took a look at the processing time, realized it's ridiculous, decided something needed to be done about it, and instructed the officers to push through some newer applications in order to bring down the 28 to something more reasonable - in the process, skipping over applications that are still within that 28 month time frame. definitely not fair to the 2014 applicants, but i can't think of any explanation that would be fair. what does anyone else think of this possibility as to the reason?

ETA: in short, i think this is a numbers game that is being played and not something CIC actually thinks is beneficial to anyone.

I did agree with you in that they were skipping over some applications, and that I think they absolutely should not be doing that. I have no idea why it's happening, I was just trying to speculate on why May 2015 applications were being processed faster than early 2015 applications. For example: A May application with the new processing could have been processed faster than a February/March application with the old processing, even if they started processing the February/March application before the May application. Yes, they would still have skipped over some applications if this is how it went down, and that is not right.

I hope you get DM before the deadline given by your prospective employer, you surely do deserve to get this over with already.

That makes sense. I guess to clear the backlog somebody has decided to change the way applications are processed. They have to draw a line somewhere to start that new process and it looks very much like that line was May. I feel for all you guys from 2014 and early 2015 still waiting for DM. Unfortunately I think you guys have been “sacrificed” in order for CIC to sort out the mess that they have found themselves in. Not fair and totally unacceptable in my opinion. Keeping families apart for obscene lengths of time is crazy. I don't understand why some applications done in Mississauga earlier this year were finished in one day?? Some background check that is!

Yes, u can add your spouse to your application before landing. The thing is your circumstance would have changed from single to married. CiC would have to issue u a new CoPR, together with your spouse to reflect your new status. In that case, u have to wait for CiC to complete the addition of your spouse to your application. If you try to land after informing CiC about your spouse, u could be prevented from landing.

Two options are available to u. With your CoPR in hand, u can choose to land and then sponsor your spouse to join u which was the option I chose or wait (not land) and add your spouse and allow CiC complete the process and issue both of you new CoPR. This 2nd option could take 6 months to complete.

Is there not something that we can do, as a collective, to try and put some pressure on these people? I am nearing one year for a standard straightforward application and think this is ridiculous...I am incredibly happy for those receiving DM from 2015, but it is indeed a bitter pill for the rest of us to swallow....
