OMG!!! 8 months to the day and we have Decision Made!!!

Congratulations! How exciting. I've just gone past 11 months. Hoping to see something before my anniversary come around.

Has anyone recently sent additional docs to CPC Ottawa? We are just about to post ours, however not sure on if I need to specify a line in the address.

This is the address that is at the end of the additional doc email my husband received: (have left the French so that you see that there is a additional 'Section B' there - no idea if I need to include this)

Case Processing Centre – Ottawa/ Centre de traitement des demandes – Ottawa
Citizenship and Immigration Canada | Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada
219 Laurier Avenue West Ottawa ON K1A 1L1 | 219 avenue Laurier Ouest
7th Floor | 7ème étage, Section B
Ottawa ON K1A 1L1 Canada

Likewise, when I received sponsor approval the letter stated if I needed to send them anything to use the following:

CPC-Ottawa
CPC-Ottawa, NHQ - Centralized Processing Region
219 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1, Canada

Same address I know, just not sure if the 2nd line and '7th floor/section B' need to be included so it gets to the correct place!

It may not be possible but if it's stuff you've got digital copies of or can scan in then you can just send them all to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca as attachments.

Just make sure you include your UCI, application number, DOB and category of immigration and it'll be associated with your file.

That's what most folk in the Ottawa thread have done in response to the recent doc requests.

Spreadsheet updated. Since May/June 2015 CIC has been setting applications as in process on or shortly after receiving sponsor approval. You applied in April so it could be that your application is being treated as one of the old applications where in process means something, but time will tell.

Hi Andrew,

Would you please include me in 2014 list as well ? Canadian citizen sponsoring Pakistani wife.
My timeline is on the left.

Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have a lot to send. And no originals of anything, so this may be an option. It's not very clear in the email, except for the section about Police Certificates (which we have already sent), it does state in bold/caps 'DO NOT SUBMIT SCANNED COPIES OF YOUR DOCUMENTS VIA EMAIL'.

I assume this is just for that section? Can never be too sure ::)

Would you add the UCI/App number/Name to the subject line of the email too?

My timeline is on the left.

Thank you.

Please provide the following info (your timeline does not have all required info)

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date the permanent residence status changed to In Process on ECAS
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
-Date of medical exam

Yeah the police certificate is the only document they generally seem to want an original copy of (except of course if they ask for your passport).

I put our application number in the subject line ie. "Re: Document Request <Application Number"> , and then it again along with the other details right at the top of the email body.

I submitted my docs almost exactly two months ago and haven't had anything back asking for me to send them again or asking for physical copies and as I say there's other folk who have sent their documents in this way who have since got DM so it's definitely ok to just do it this way.

Thanks, think I will do this instead as everything we are sending is already electronic. And yes, as you said, the only 'original' document they requested was the police certificate. Makes sense!

Out of interest, what did they request from you?

We had
  • confirm address
  • updates on family composition (if applicable)
  • Intent to reside from sponsor
  • RPRF (if not paid already)
  • Police certificate (if not done/sent already)
  • Medical examination; medical form/emedical if already completed & sent

Has anything on ecas changed since you sent your additional docs?

Thanks, I have added you. I presume you made the decision to redo your medical without CIC requesting you to do so?

Nope. LVO requested on March 16,2015 for re-med. My wife got it done on March 19,2015.

Thank you.

Okay but in your post where you provided the timeline of your application progress you said None for "Date(s) of any other requests you've had".

It was for "any additional documents" and not the re-med. I misunderstood Andrew.

A re-medical is an additional document. No problem, spreadsheet updated.
