Hi there,
I just received the exact email you received. Similarly, we also submitted medicals and police certificates as well and sent originals with our application and also paid. I guess I will have to show proof that I am living back in Canada now and send that via snail mail. Let me know if you do anything different or if anyone else has received this email in the past.
Thanks

It seems like Ottawa are processing in batches now as a whole load of other folk got the exact same email at roughly the same time as I did last month, and now there's a load of folk also being processed at Ottawa who have gotten this email today.

For the proof of intent to return are you as sponsor currently living in Canada? If not they want to see evidence that you're planning on moving back in the next few months or as soon as your spouse gets their visa. It's kinda tricky but if you've got any evidence you've got accommodation or a job lined up, have plane tickets booked or even have started to move your money back to a Canadian bank (taking advantage of the great pound to dollar exchange rate :D), or even just more evidence of you talking to friends and family in Canada about moving back. Of course if you are already back in Canada just say that and provide a bit of evidence for that.

We just sent the requested proof of intent to return along with a copies of the eMedical and RPRF receipts and an explanatory email saying the originals were submitted with the initial application.

We only got the request for police certificates a couple of weeks ago in a separate batch email

I think it's all good news as it shows Ottawa is pushing applications through the system but it seems to be a new way of them doing it and sending out emails so it's hard to tell exactly what it all means

I'll probably re-send everything requested. As for the intent, I'm still living in the UK, and unfortunately have not made any plans as of yet, as we weren't sure when we would hear back of the visa (even after sending these docs, I'm not sure how long it will take for it to come through). Very tricky indeed. I guess I could resend the supporting evidence I previously sent for my intent section of the application, but aside from this I think I will struggle with anything new.

I previously sent a letter from my parents stating they were aware of our intent and offered for us to live with them whilst we found work and our own place. I also included a letter from a close friend again, stating she was aware of our plans, and also a letter from my current employer stating he knew about our plans as well. Alongside these letters I also wrote a letter myself outlining my plans once the visa came through and existing bank statements (as I have a good chunk saved in savings/mutual funds). I'm not sure what else I can send at this point as we would do things once we are there... any other suggestions?

The emedical - did you get this from the physician? My partner was not given anything except for the receipt. He did ask if they would give him any forms etc. and they said no.

It was those two points we were unsure about....

Thanks again for your replies and help!

Edin2Van - did you get any replies to this? We have just received the same email.

It has asked us to:
  • confirm address
  • state changes in family composition
  • proof of intent of sponsor (really confused on this one as I have already been approved as a sponsor...do I resend everything they already have?)
  • RPRF Payment (if not already paid)
  • Police certificate (if not already submitted)
  • Medical Exam form (we have already completed the exam and have sent the official receipts of it with our application; is this referring to IMM 1017/'emedical' receipt, as we were told the physician would send the results directly to CIC)

Spreadsheet updated. Under permanent residence application are you in process?

After a CSE and 2 emails, we finally received a response about our missing Police certificate. This was there response:

Thank you for your correspondence. Please note that your Japanese Police Certificate has been located and an updated Japanese Police Certificate is not required.
Please be advised that this application is now in a queue awaiting review by an officer. You will be contacted again once the review has been completed. No further action is required from you at this time. We appreciate your continued patience.

Hopefully there will be no more glitches or lost paper work and an officer will get to it soon!

Spreadsheet updated. Not the first time that LVO has lost something!

The asking for proof of intent to return seems to be standard procedure as pretty much everyone gets asked for it, so you might well be ok with resending the relevant information and write a decent up-to-date cover letter explaining when you intend to return and what you're going to do when you do so. I'm sure CIC know it's not possible for people to make solid plans before their spouse gets their visa so in most cases they just want some evidence of some sort of future plan.

When you say your partner was given a receipt was it the "eMedical Information Sheet" or just proof of payment?

Not sure if there's anything else you can be given but the information sheet has the UMI number CIC need to link your medical result to your application

Thanks, just noticed AOR is listed as 26/04/15 on the spreadsheet, it should be 25/04/15. Could you change this please?

And no, it still says 'Application Received'.

Thanks for your reply Edin2Van. Yeah it seems like the whole thing is fairly standard. Nonetheless, I will re-send all of my proof of intent with an updated letter from myself. I suppose it would be worth mentioning in it that they already approved me as a sponsor!?

He received a proof of payment which states 'Canada Immigration Medical'. They did not give him anything else except for this and his card receipt! We will give them a ring an request the emedical document which has the UMI number asap. Hopefully there won't be any issues with this. A little annoyed as my husband even asked if he would get any other documentation from them and they said no.

Hi Lierdoc, seems like you got the exact email as we did. And ours still says 'Application Received' too.

Done.

FYI everyone if you notice the statistics in the 'Processing Timeby Visa Office' table on the Home tab have changed, you are not going crazy.

I noticed that they were only displaying a value based on the 2014 sheet, so any approvals in 2015 were not being reflected. I have fixed this so now the stats in the table reflect all approvals.

At least they found it and we didn't have to pay for another!

Update, received my COPR in the mail yesterday :) I'm going to drive to the American/Canadian border at the weekend to land. 3 days off 15 months in total for the process from start to finish.

I want to thank all the mods on the forum, think I may have lost my shit over the course of the waiting time without the forum and its members to help.

Good luck to everyone else, esp Taffy, I hope you get yours soon!

Spreadsheet updated Scotmoose. Hope the landing goes well.
