Hey everyone, tiny update. I was well over the processing times for SA so I rang today and they told me that it was approved sep 1st. They can't see anything in the system about a letter or email being sent out so if we still haven't had an update on ECAS or received a letter/email by the sep 18th then we have to call again.
Did they mention which visa office has your application for stage 2? I will hold off entering your SA date for now as it needs it's right hand man the visa office!

I would read this explaining the differences between Outland and Inland,

http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spousal_Sponsorship-Canada

Ultimately it's your call no one can advise what is for the best. Most people choose outland as it's generally quicker, you can leave canada without the worry of your application being cancelled if you don't get re-entry for any reason, and you have the right to appeal if your application is refused, unlike Inland.

You mention working, Inland currently offers the pilot project for a work permit, explained in the link above.

You would have to wait until you get your PR, there is no work permit pilot scheme with outland applications.

you will be on implied status in 6 days when your visitor visa expires, until you get a decision regarding the extension. If for some reason this was refused and you are out of status before CIC receive your inland PR application, I believe you would not be eligible for the work permit as you have to have a 'status' visitor or implied to qualify. (open for correction)

Just a point to note... Outland requires a whole different set of forms, so you would need extra time to go through that all again.

Hope that helps, good luck
Also - If you are Irish you can apply through IEC for a work permit, that is if you are under 30 yo and have not used this previously.

No they didn't. As they can't even see if any correspondence has been sent I assume they also can't see where it has been sent. I'm 100% it's going to be London though as I haven't seen an application kept inside Canada for months now.

At what stage do they let me know that they received my Medical Results? I've had nothing to ECAS yet to show that they got it through the e medical system.

Ah okay. I noticed you are not on the spreadsheet, please provide the following (provide the bits you know):

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Once you receive sponsor approval you should see medicals received underneath the permanent residence application status.

I think being "in process " by CIC is a bit dodgy. If you guys noticed since last month lots of applicants have gone "in process " but just one or two got decision made. They just want to show they are working our files. :'( :'( :'(

I thought it looked like everything was speeding up. We've had 6 DMs already in Sept to maybe only 9 or so in Aug. I'm hoping this is a trend that will continue.

We are in progress as of August 28.

Funnily enough we received by post today the original of our marriage certificate sent from the High Commission in London. We had asked for a second copie on the day of our wedding in order to join it with our application. We did not expect to get it back. It has served as a tracer indicating us that we really are in progress in the sense that an actual human being was working on our file.

Hello everyone!

We’re new to this site and I was wondering if you could add us to the Timeline for Family Class Sponsorship via London.

Application received in Mississauga: October 28th, 2014
CL
Sponsor Approval: January 22nd, 2015
Processing office: London
“In process” on ECAS: February 5th, 2015 (even though it wasn’t updated until August 25th, 2015).

Anyone know what we can expect from here? Has anyone had frequent updates on their application in a condensed amount of time (e.g. medical, passport request, etc.)? Is it approximately 1 year from “in process” to “decision made”, or are we going to have some more surprises?

Thank you! :)

Hello J.J. Farrow.

Before I add you can you tell me your location? Closest city is fine if you do not want to be too specific!
