'Decision made' !!!!! :o :o

I feel numb, thought I'd cry, or scream..... don't think it's sinking in yet. I won't believe it till I get COPR in the mail I think. (I may bribe the mail lady with cupcakes to deliver to me first if she gets a CIC envelope)

Taffy7 and Scotmoose, you are next....

YES!!!! Congratulations !!! We received COPR between 3-4 weeks after ECAS changed to DM. So now it's your turn to stalk the postman hehehe

Hey,

Congratulations to all those whose application process is moving along.

Well, today i checked ecas and this is what it said;

We received your application for permanent residence on December 29, 2014.
We started processing your application on March 25, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

And at the same time i received and email from LVO ask for additional documents, see below;

Please provide evidence of ongoing communication and contact with your sponsor since the wedding.

Also, I applied for my husband almost a year after our marriage; so they want an explanation for this delay!

How should i address these inquiries? Please help as soon as possible!

Thanks

Beaverdiva: spreadsheet updated with your AOR date.

mhum: Please post the following:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!

Well today is 14 months since my application was first received. Feel like I should be getting flowers from CIC, haha!

We have gone to DECISION MADE!!! Time to put some dance music on and dance! 316 days, less than a week left on his medical.

He is moving here next month regardless, now I wonder if he should just wait to have his papers in his hands anyway or come as a visitor like we've planned.

yippee!!

Update:

My wife's application has been updated to "in process" but there is no start date. LVO is still waiting for Mississauga to add my baby to my wife's PR application. That could explain the reason why no start date for "in process" in ecas.

Hey Guys

FYI, I thought this was useful to share;

The Canadian Government has announced that from 15th March 2016 certain visitors flying into Canada will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA).

What is an eTA?
eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air.

The new process will allow the Canadian government to screen all travellers before they enter the country. The authorization is electronically linked to your passport and is valid for five years or until your passport expires.

The cost to apply for an eTA is $7 (CAD) per person.

You can find more information at Canada.ca/eta

Please, help me with these inquiries! SOMEONE... Please!!!

I would suggest you provide any evidence of continued communication with your husband ie emails, Skype logs, letters basically anything showing that you and your husband have been communicating /in contact. Air tickets, telephone bills etc

As for why you waited a year to apply, well be honest and tell them the reasons. Hope this helps.

Just state the facts and tell them exactly why you applied a year a later.

I applied almost 6 months after. I was gathering all the information, and wanted to understand the process. I had some trips in between too, and I just didn't get to it around too quickly.

not getting at you, Sibby, because i know CIC mentions submitting telephone bills as proof, but really? do people still talk long distance on the phone on a regular basis? especially people in our situation, with a spouse in another country. i mean, sure, my husband and i talk on the phone once in a while - mostly short calls, to let the other know we'll be late getting home or whatever - but with skype being free AND a way of actually seeing the other person, i just can't believe there are many people who conduct their long-distance relationships over the phone these days!
