Hi,

We received the below email on Friday 21/8:

We are writing with regards to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

As you are aware, visa validity is determined by medical validity, and for this application your medical results will expire on 2015/09/11.

As a one-off procedure, in order for our medical officer to potentially reassess the current medical results and determine whether an extension of your medical validity is possible, please provide the following:

- countries visited/country of residence since the date of your original medical, including details of all/any business trips, holidays/vacations or stopovers of any duration.

- details of any illnesses, however minor or temporary, since the date of your original medical.

If the medical officer determines that an extension of your medical validity is not possible, repeat medical instructions will be sent.

We replied to the email last night (24/8) and I am about to head to the post office to send a hard copy with boarding passes etc. to the High Commission in London

Spreadsheet updated. I am seriously baffled why London is handling December applicants when there are still lots of applicants waiting from May,June,July etc.

You're telling me, in 2 days I'll have been waiting for 14 months. There's a few of us that have had remed requests and had them done and still nothing. Yet they're putting into process applications received in Dec and sending out PPR etc...I honestly don't get it! It can't that be that hard to run a system where you work on older applications first.

Today I have just joined the 12 month + Club >:(

I really feel for you guys that have been waiting longer then me. :( Hope for DMs very soon (Maybe today ;D)

Guys I really don't know if "in process" truly means "in process". I have my doubts now. :( :'(

I ordered my notes end of week last week. Let's see what it says.

Perhaps, but personally I would prefer to be in process over application received even if it means nothing because at the very least an officer has updated my file!

I understand Andrew. I wish us all the best.

Mine btw still says "Application received" when I click on "in process". There is no third line added. Not sure if that means anything.

This Brit needs help, so i'll start from the top.

I got married to my Canadian husband in April 2015, in Canada, and I have been here since then. Our sponsorship was completed and reached the CPC on 4th August 2015.

I have a return ticket booked for the end of September but am now considering extending my stay. However, last weekend I travelled to the US for day trip and did not get a re-entry stamp on my passport upon returning to Canada. Does this mean I have to apply for an extension? I assumed you just had to leave and re-enter.

I've also gone through the relevant extension form (IMM5708) and needed help on the following:

Q7 – Current country of residence, DATE from and TO – should the date in ‘TO' be the date you are filing the extension application?

Section: Coming into Canada - Q3 - 'Date and place of your most recent entry to Canada' - would this be my original date or the date when I came back into Canada from US, even though I do not have a re-entry stamp.

Section: Details of visit- Q2 – ‘indicate how long you plan to stay' – what length of time can I apply for? Would the 'FROM' date be the date you original status ends? The current processing time for our outland application shows 28 months!

Section: Background information – Q2 (c) Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada? Would I answer ‘yes' because we have applied for sponsorship? It is still being processed and I do not have a reference number as of yet as it'll take approx 57 days for my husband to be assessed.

Would I still need to apply for an ETA if extension is approved? Can i leave and re-enter Canada with a valid visa extension?

Grateful for any advice...

I can give you advice from my personal experience. I have had 4 extensions so far... as I say, my experience, just how I answered the questions, but as they were all granted I assume I answered ok!

Q7 - I put the 'TO' as the date my current visitor permit was due to expire
Q2 details of visit.... I applied for 6 months the first 3 times and 1 year the last time.... I think you can apply for whatever you want, but they will only grant what they feel fits. I think usually a max of 12 months..

Background info..... I never knew how to answer this question, and never got any help from any forums when I asked. I answered 'yes' and in the additional details explained I didn't know how to answer, but have a Spousal PR in process, giving as many details as I could... UCI, receipt for Fees, sponsor approval letter....

Hope that helps a little? Good luck :-)

Thank you so much for your help! I just realised I'd missed some of the questions out so i've updated my post once again. Thanks again!! Just out of interest did you get given a multiple entry visa?

Thanks guys.

ALHAMDULILAH!!!! ALHAMDULILAH!!!! ALHAMDULILAH!!!!

Ma Sha Allah, the status of our application has been UPDATED to IN PROCESS as of August 25, 2015 - 8 mnth after its submission! Ma Sha Allah.

However, the LVO has sent out an email asking for additional documents, that however worries me a bit. Hence, I am here once again to share my excitement and to ask you all to pray for my husband and I so that everything goes well from this point onwards.

Much much appreciated :)

We have also just gone "In Process" as of today. Having read the previous posts not sure what that actually means but at least it is something!

The PubLandlord: Added.
ErinH: Updated.
mhum: Please post your full timeline as I do not see you on the sheet.
