Hey, I need clarification, I emailed them a few questions about the medical and got this reply. it sounds like we are coming due for processing but am I reading this right that after it starts the processing stage it takes 8-12 months MORE?? Help! I thought once it starts processing it would be done within a few months. we applied November 2014. ahhh thanks
to your enquiry regarding the above noted file.

Hi,

No the entire process (the moment your application reaches LVO) takes between 8-12 months.

ohh, ok it was just worded funny, the second sentence really freaked me out. I figured the whole process takes about a year, but they say 8-12 months from when it begins active processing - which we apparently haven't entered that stage yet...so confused and discouraged :| were both here in Calgary - hes already gone 8 months without getting a work permit - im going crazy....

Hi. Applications received will be finalised within 8-12 months (from when application was received in Mississauga {lock-in date} and LVO finalising the application).

Dear Madam,

This is in response to your enquiry regarding the above noted file.

Please be advised that the subject application is awaiting officer review. Currently, we are putting into active processing, applications that were received in CPC-Mississauga in October, 2014. Our aim is to finalise applications that have begun active processing within 8-12 months. This application was received in CPC-Mississauga on November 17th, 2014, therefore should enter active processing very soon.

Once this application is put into active processing, we may be in contact with you/Mr. Harris to submit additional documentation/information. Please provide any requested materials within the timeframe mentioned in our letter to avoid unnecessary delays. Also, please keep us informed of any changes in your/Mr Harris's status (address, phone, email, newborn children, etc...) so we can keep the file up to date.

The medical validity date for Mr. Harris is October 23rd, 2015. The officer who is assigned to this file will request a medical reassessment from our medical office closer to the date of expiry. If a medical reassessment is granted, the medical validity date for Mr. Harris will be extended by one year. If the medical office is unable to reassess his medical, we will be in contact with Mr. Harris to complete a new set of medical examinations.

We hope this is of assistance.

Sincerely,

I know you are probably sick to death of waiting but as someone whose application went in December 2014, Im so thrilled to hear they are working on October 2014. it finally feels there is some movement in the London VO. Hope it comes quickly for you guys!

Bhaerber85, thanks for sharing your email response from LVO. It brings some hope in this long process to know hear that they are putting into active process October 2014 applications. Hoping to hear earlier applicants like Taffy7, Scotmoose and Andrewbrit and others sharing news of decision made. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. That will definitely bring a smile to my face as it will indicate good movement at LVO.

Hi there. For the spreadsheet you said CIC Mississauga received your application in February 2015 (as per this post) but above you say they received it in November, which is correct?

He applied in November and got his approval in Feb is what I understood.

There are couple of individuals on Pak thread who applied in October and received their SA Dec 9, & 19th have been contacted for additional documents.

.

If they applied in November then they should have said November!

Hey guys, just had a look at the spreadsheet and I noticed we don't seem to keep track of how long PR cards are taking to arrive after landing. CIC says up to 87 days, but I'm sure I've seen people on this forum get it much faster than that.

Can people who have landed recently comment on how long theirs took? I know they probably would have abandoned the forum, but hey, it's worth a try!

Well I am ecstatic to report that yesterday we finally got "in process" :D :D :o

Apparently, that started looking at our file on Monday 27th. We have also been asked to redo the medical and send them another copy of the auK police certificate (as this is now out of date). Can you please update the spreadsheet accordingly? Thanks a bunch.

well as I'm sure others can appreciate, I'm now getting concerned that I didn't get any requests for anything when I went into 'in process'...... do I just think 'wow, I'm lucky they must have extended my medicals/police cert etc...' or think 'I bet they sent me a request that I haven't received'. I constantly check mine and my sponsors junk email but nothing. I'm wondering how long to leave things before I send a case specific inquiry just to ask if there is anything else they need? am I overthinking things and being paranoid? :o

I think because you are already in Canada thats why they haven't asked you . I've noticed that only the ones out of the coubtry has been asked, thinking it will give them more time to land.

Thanks taffy7..... it's nerve racking being in process isn't it.... feels like an end may be in sight!

I have finally had my address changed on Ecas (5 months after we moved and notified London twice). I am feeling optimistic that someone may actually have looked at our file though we remain on application received. Fingers crossed.
