Congrats!! What time did you get the email? Does anyone know if if the CPP's are open just 8.30am - 4.30 or do they have people there processing applications all day?

Awesome! Thanks, it's great to know that they are hard at work, I wonder what time they are actually in the office processing applications until? Great that they are moving forward though!!

Hi all,

I noticed that CIC has changed London application process time to 29 Months on their website !!! IS this really freaking true? Almost having a panic attack right now as it has been 8 months since our PA application was sent to London and we just don't know how long we actually need to wait.

Also currently my wife is in Canada on visitor's permit. She holds Indian passport, but is UK PR. Considering the massive difference b/n London and Canada processing timelines, can we not have the file sent back to Canada as she currently lives here? Also do we need to apply for address change even though she is only here visiting me?

Read back a few pages and you will see that this is well documented. London has been processing applications originally sent to Islamabad for about a year and a half. The processing time of 11 months did not reflect this so they had to update it. I am sure the applicants in those applications kept reminding London that their process had been over 11 months, so London updated the processing time.

Long story short it most likely does not mean anything to your application. Standard applications should take less than 11 months, however I am not sure if your wife being only a UK PR has any bearing on this.

You do not get to choose where your application goes. Otherwise everyone would send theirs to Mississauga right now and then the fastest office would become the slowest!

Is she visiting you indefinitely or will she leave Canada at some point? If it is just a visit then no need to update her address.

Please read this: http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spousal_Sponsorship-Canada/FAQ#How_long_will_it_take.3F

Then open the spreadsheet and read what's written in the big red box on the cover sheet.

Then take a deep breath and calm down.

(PS: Doing a search back of previous pages also would be a good idea as this has been discussed at length for the past month.)

Just a quick question? How do you know for sure why they started keeping applications in Canada? Was there a statement made by the CIC about Islamabad and London? Same with the reason the processing time has been increased?

Insider information on another forum. CIC never posted publicly about it.

Processing time being increased was just logic. Processing times in Islamabad I think is at 36 months. It was never realistic that London's processing time was going to stay at 11. So that was a combination of common sense and insider info on here and other forums from people who have or are currently working for CIC. This is also not the first time somethign like this has happened. IT's the first time for London, yes, but similar things have happened in the past with other offices as CIC attempts to manage workloads.

Ahh okay! Was disappointed when I saw London on my SA but I will keep positive and trust the trusty spread sheet :).

So, I'm in a situation where I have to return urgently back to my home country for a while. Would CIC regard it bad, if I wait for my PR back in my home country now that I have been here in Canada for nearly 7 months? I'm just afraid I would not be able to return back because of my long stay and a relative for now really needs me back in my country.
