if your application is in ottawa, then generally it goes like this:

in process = file has been reviewed by an officer and it's in the final stages. if you received a passport request (only a copy since you are visa exempt) or request for a fee, then you'll see "in process" as soon as they received the paperwork which means they are now preparing your visa. Technically, they can not issue the visa until RPRF is paid (if not done up front). Note that a lot of visa exempt applicants do NOT get passport requests.

decision made = if you did not have an interview or request for more relationship/settlement information, this generally means your application has been approved and your COPR has been mailed out.

the ottawa spreadsheet is the blue link below in my signature. feel free to add yourself, and take a look at the "trends" for passport/fee request to in process to decision made.

Very helpful, thanks! Wow a 3rd spreadsheet to join, will consider it. We paid for everything upfront and my partner is visa exempt (Aussie living in the UK). We anticipate no interview since we're not in Canada but one never knows. Will just sit back and wait as patiently as possible now!!

Our application has been received in Mississauga 15/12/14 and we are CL - if you wanted to update spread sheet. Know been quite quiet in the forum but all of the knowledge gained on here makes me confident we have done it all correctly LOL

We both live in the UK at the moment so it was a Canadian living exclusively outside of Canada - dunno if you need that info.

We did include all the invoices we have collected for our wedding in July 2015 - do you think they will wait for decision pending our marriage certificate?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but they will assess you as is your application when received. You could update them (if necessary) when you get married.

Andrew seems to be be updating the spreadsheet these days and I think they like to know what city you are closest to or residing in.

If you would like to be added to the spreadsheet please provide this info: (provide what you have/know at this time)

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
-Date the principal applicant completed their medical

I have added you to the spreadsheet (linked in my signature). Please provide the current location of the principal applicant and I will update accordingly.

Closest major city would be London - meds were done beforehand Nov 10 2014

Spreadsheet updated. Thanks!

Update on our application:

We received our CSQ (Québec selection certificate) today! It had been issued on 4/12 and got sent to London via snail mail. It was really quick, since they had received our application on Nov 28.

Now hoping to go In Process soon... :)

I was just told that applications outland take 4 months on average to complete. Can somebody tell me why some applications are taking way longer than that? I see that some people on this thread have been waiting for more than one year.

Look at the spreadsheet linked in my signature. Applications that have been processed inside Canada instead of being sent to London (Mississauga or Ottawa) have been processed quite quickly; ones that have gone to London are taking longer. The average is nowhere near one year, even when you factor in London the average is 7-8 months.

Some peop;e have been taking longer than a year, it's just the way it goes. Every applicatio nis different. Some are incomplete, some need extra background checks, some are just more complicated and require way more investigation.

Every application is different.

I've read your other thread. Brucem stated that recent apps have been completed in as little as 4 months, not that the average was 4 months. As said above, every app is different. It may only take 4 months or it may take a year, depending on personal circumstances.

Yeah I made that a little clearer on the other thread...4 months is more of a bonus than a norm!

Hi,

Not sure about this why not ask. Can I see the status of my PR card issuance on eCAS?

All I see is that my PR app is "Complete" and where I landed and what date. It does not show anything else.

Thanks.

I think this is one of those hit or miss things. Apparently a few people have seen the status of their first PR card on ECAS but my partner's never showed anything about it.

Hi
I applied outland London for my wife's sponsorship in May 2014 and the status still reads "application received".
This is taking so long but on the other hand she just received multiple entry visitor visa to come and visit me in Feb. 2015. She is planning to make one way trip and no return flights......Not sure if this will be an issue at boarder security when she arrives in Toronto. Currently she is in London UK so if she comes to Canada can I change her current address to my address in Canada? This is because we are expecting that while she is here in Canada her PR will be issued...if this is the case does she actually need to fly back to UK?

Thanks.
