Oh dear, I'm a Mrs! :P

Hi

I have managed to find out what was happening with my application through the call centre and the news was good! We got SA nearly a month ago (14 Oct) I tried to update the spreadsheet but couldn't get it to work. Our case has been transferred to London.

Anyway if other people want to contact Mississauga then i used +1 613 9444000 with success.

kks

Updated and very helpful post, thanks!

Hello Guys,

Does CIC require marriage certificate??

In my case, we will have a religious ceremony and then we have to register such marriage at the City office. The Mayor's office provide marriage registration certificate.

FYI: I used the similar document, Birth Registration Certificate, to apply my PR.

Also, another question. What are the key photographs that we should submit.

IF you are applying as a married couple then yes, you have to provide your marriage certificate. It's on the checklist.

Key photographs - the photos should show a progression of your relationship. Think of it like a photo essay. So photos of you guys on holidays, with friends, with family, etc - the pictures should tell the story of your relationship.

Thanks for the info. I'll check with other people who filed their sponsorship before.

Soooo.... my application has been approved, and they sent out the COPR... BUT...

1. I've been on a visitor visa in Canada while I wait for it to arrive. (UK resident, Canadian wife).
2. CIC managed to muck up the input of my change of mailing address earlier in the year so they sent it to the wrong address in Ottawa. (I didn't realise).
3. We managed to contact the post office but is has been sent back to the UK
4. I've now notified CIC of the correct address but they haven't updated E-CAS so I've no idea if they have done it. They also didn't respond to my enquiry about what to do as a result of the above.

What happens now? Anyone had the same experience on how long it takes to get it sent back out again?

My 6 month visitor visa runs out in 4 weeks and I'll need to get it extended if it won't arrive in time (how do I go about this?). I am due to go back to the UK for two weeks at the start of December so do I just get a new visa when I get back to Canada if my other one hasn't arrived?

What a mess!

Apply to extend the visa anyway. You can write that COPR has been dispatched and you're just waiting to receive it. At least then the extension is in, and if you don't need it, then whatever.

In the meantime, give CIC another day or two to respond, on Thursday send another chaser and ask what's going on... use both the online form and the direct email address.

Keep us updated!

Did you get an email back stating that they have updated your ecas. I sent a request last night and received a response this morning. However the email did say we have made the changes to the address but it may not be update on ecas.

This spreadsheet is excellent, it is by far the clearest. Fingers crossed for all involved, preparing an application is pretty tough!

Will do! Hopefully this gets sorted within 3 weeks!

I did, but I'm pretty worried now they won't update it properly even though I got the response back.

Took about a week for me to see the update on e-cas, so it takes a bit!

Aniabella your meds are due to expire at the end of Dec same day as my hubbies. Have you heard if they are going to extend them?

Nop, haven't heard a word from LVO at all. I was starting to wonder myself if I should contact LVO to inquire about my meds since I'm starting to have this creeping feeling I'm not getting my COPR this year. On GCMS notes they are said to expire on January 22, 2015. Did you contact LVO about it?
