We've sent off the request to have Dubai's police check waived and the lawyers have forwarded it onward to the High Commission today. They think it's highly likely that it should be granted since it's not 6 months consecutively that he was in Dubai. Slightly frustrating as this info is actually in the application two or three times in various forms, just due to one box not being ticked the right way that we've run into it being a problem.

Anyone know the delay a police check (after being submitted or waived) generally causes?

We're still proceeding with me leaving Cyprus due to my father having a stroke in Canada last weekend and my mother going for an operation by summer's end. So we can't delay me leaving, my husband can still enter Canada while this is on going anyways.

BIG congrats to the others from our date-range, welcome to Canada :) Hope you enjoy yourselves!

General question...

After SA, when they ship the application to the London VO, is there usually an update on ECAS to indicate its been received?

Thanks

There is no update on ECAS to reflect this

The best thing to do is order your GCMS notes, it will say in your notes if and when London receives your file
I did this and found out my file was in transit on the 1st April and received in London on the 7th

Recieved COPR by mail today. Will be landing in Canada next monday.

Good luck to all and thanks for the help.

Congratulations! Can you also please tell me where you received it? We are tracking that on the spreadsheet so others can get a look for how long it takes the COPR to arrive in different locations are decision made. Thanks!

It can be so exciting! Let me know once you get a delivery confirmation and I will add you to the spreadsheet :)

Hi all,

I have been absent from here lately (blame it on getting ready for leaving Germany), so I forgot to mention that we have officially received our COPR on Thursday.

We won't be landing until the very end of August, but it's nice to have the official, official confirmation.

Hi everyone. Pretty new to the forum so bare with me but its so assuring seeing others in the same dilemmas! My husband was born in uk and are in the process of completing sponor forms. We have both lived in uk all our lives but my husband has canadian citizenship as his mother was born in canada. What are our chances of approval and is anyone else in a similar situation?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Hey all!

Quick question about processing in Mississauga...

When you guys says "application received in Mississauga on X date" what do you mean by this exactly?

I'm just wondering because we went our application in last month and (by tracking the parcel through the post) know that it got there around the 15th of June..
All I am wondering is,does the office in Mississauga send you any kind of notification that your application has arrived there safely?or do you not hear anything from them untill your sponser is approved?

Thanks all!just getting worried that it's been about a month since it got there and have not heard any confirmation..unless there isn't supposed to be any?

Thanks again!

Since you are not living in Canada, they are going to decide your application on two main points: genuine relationship and intent to move to Canada. For you, the most difficult part to prove will be intent to move to Canada as soon as PR is approved. Do you have a plan yet of that and any proof?

It is true there is a criminal and medical part you need to pass as well, but I am giving my advice assuming there is no criminal history and any medical issues that are dangerous to the community.

Hi!

For the spreadsheet we use the application received date as the date the application arrived in Mississauga. Most people get this information by tracking their parcel through their chosen carrier.

You will receive an AOR (acknowledge of receipt) but there is a delay for that, so we find it most accurate to use the date you tracked your application as the starting point in the application process.

I have added you on the spreadsheet for June 15. Can you let me know if this is a marriage or common law application as well please?

Good luck on your application, and please keep us update as your application progresses so we can keep the spreadsheet up to date and helpful to others.
