My understanding is that it means if they haven't got around to your application by then, the system flags your application for attention by a visa officer. They either start to work on it or assign a later bring forward date. It's supposed to ensure no application is missed.

Thanks Mark. I later found this very detailed post all about the bring forward date in case anyone else was interested

Hello everyone!

Congratulations to all those who have heard. So it has been over 10 months since I submitted my application. I had really hoped it was here before my 30th back in August and now I am hoping my PR is here before Christmas.

I am feeling rather frustrated and irritable today and decided to quietly vent here to those of you who understand.

Time to jump on my bike and blast around Stanley Park I reckon.

In other news, I may have a job lined up! Nothing special, but it is money at least- for living on one income here in Vancouver isn't the easiest thing to do!

Have a great day everyone,

David :)

Pretty remarkable to be In Process for over 4 months. They must have spotted something they don't like. Been to Afghanistan or something?

Yeah 4.5 months now :/ It isn't much fun - no, just Australia and USA. Nothing dodgy really.

Just getting tiring now with waiting mate.

I think I read somewhere that it can take some months to get the security clearance from Australia...? Not sure though.
I hope your application is finalized soon!!

I am loving all the new people joining! Its nice having people all going through the same thing.

I read somewhere on britishexpats that security clearance is dependent on exernal groups so it godisfin might be right and it may be that australian travels may be holding you up?

I hope you get it in the next month david!

We are going to the states next week due to my partner's visa expiring (and general vacation), do we need any proof of return flight/ funds to show that he is not going to over stay the 6 months (which he is - if we get our visa).

I am hoping a print out of my SA will be sufficient?

I really don't want to book a flight that is never going to be used.

I think I asked this before, but I just want to confirm, I don't want to risk having him refused at the border...

No, just proof that you can afford to support him if asked, and that you or he has enough money to buy a return flight home if needed. Print a bank statement no older than a week prior to your entry date.

Excellent, thanks!

I saw that a London applicant from around April 9th got their DM this week in another forum, London is speeding away!! I selfishly hope they get to mine asap, but I can definitely feel the unfairness to the previous applicants...

This must have been asked here hundred times, but I couldn't find the answer and don't want to go through all the pages in this thread, SO, do I need to fill out B4 before I land (print the form and fill out), or is it ok to have a piece of paper with all my stuff listed?
Also, because I will be landing with nothing, as I just go to States for a day and come back, do I need to have a form for that too? Meaning, if I buy something, do I declare those or no? I read that the stuff I bring should be used my be before and if I buy something, it's not used...

Thanks guys!!

You need to use the B4/B4a forms. There is a whole process that you need to be aware of for filling these in and submitting them when you land. You will need 2 copies of forms for goods when you land and another 2 copies of forms for "goods to follow". http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp has the details and links.

Yay!! Congratulations!

We are still waiting for them to return our corrected CoPR. Getting so unbelievably frustrated. We want to land and we can't until they pull their finger out and correct their stupid error. >:(
Tomorrow Darling, tomorrow... That's assuming that the Post Office haven't lost it behind a desk or something... Let's hope it's correct this time!
