I hear ya nmford. I also am a very very unhappy camper right now. After getting an E-mail on the 27th November saying that my application will soon be approved and my COPR mailed out, I have not received it, ECAS is still in process. I am flying out next Wednesday, which certainly looks like I won't have it in time for that flight. Also now me and my wife have to arrange a "day trip" to the States from Edmonton, which is certainly not a short voyage at all. I will be so furious if after I get out there and the COPR arrives in the first week or so.
i've been waiting on your name turning red...I'm quite surprised you have not heard anything. I find it strange. they would tell u that then keep you waiting this long...

Thanks Scottishmaple. I have today turned technically red. My ECAS now says DM. I wasn't too worried about being approved, I am highly concerned as to what address they have sent it too. I fly out Wednesday so hopefully it will arrive in the UK either Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. After that then it will have to be Canada and I will then have to arrange to flagpole. Fingers crossed it will come to the UK. :D

Thanks Bonitanita and Sweden. Just when I thought it wasn't going to happen this year CIC suprised me. Here's hoping your process is very swift and you have yours for Xmas. This is just the best present ever. Can't wait to tell my wife when she finishes work in a couple of hours. ;D

Hey all,
I'm new here. I'm Canadian and my husband is Scottish.
We applied in July 2012 and just got our approval on November 29th 2012.
We are just waiting for london to say yes.
two questions.
1. My husband's tourist visa ends Feb 23rd but by the time his work permit gets approved it will be around Feb 25th. What should we do.

2. How do I access the elusive E-CAS? the website the letter gives me directs me back to CIC which doesn't tell us anything anymore.

I guess I got another question.

3. Does my husband need to fly back to London to get an interview or will they interview him here.

thank you and so glad we both found this forum.

1. Apply for a tourist visa extension via the cic website

2. Access ECAS by going on to the CIC site and clicking on "check application status"

3. If an interview is requested, he will need to go to London. But, interviews from the London office are rare so I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey rosa85, and welcome to the forum!

1 - you can ask for an extension of the tourist visa before it expires, like a month before. For the reason of extension, you can put a copy of the sponsorship approval letter, and explain that he is waiting out his PR in Canada, there is no reason to be denied normally. And - as long as they are processing the extension, your husband can stay in the country, so that should be enough. Another option is to go out of the country ( to the US if you are close to the border), and when he comes back in, he can ask for another 6 months entry stamp. Bring the proofs of the PR application (approval letter).

2- ecas can be found here https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en and you should use either the UCI + sponsor information ( no first name, only last name) or the file number (starting by F) and the applicant info. BOth can be found on the approval letter/email.

3- IF an interview is required, then your husband will have to fly to London at a date decided by London VO. Interviews are quite rare for visa-exempt applicants, and if you have a "straightforward case" (first marriage, being living together, no previous history of sponsorship etc), then it is unlikely that he will be asked for one.

If you feel like it, you can add yourself to the London spreadsheet, the link is in my signature, and it's open for all to edit. Add yourself by date of sponsorship received (29/11), and the color for the user name corresponds to the month you submitted your application. If you're not comfortable doing it, let me know, and I'll add you.

Good luck!

Can't see you on the spreadsheet, but I believe you - now it's your turn! :) if you're visa-exempt, you should be done pretty soon... if not, you might have to wait a little more, as it seems that it always takes a little longer.
Fingers crossed!

Hi all,

I have some questions, you may help me in this regard.

Q1: My wife has applied for my PR from Canada, according to ECAS she is aproved as sponsor and my PR application has been sent to London 27 days back (she has received an email in this regard too). ECAS is showing that my application and Medical result has been received from the day application received in Missisuage there is no information that application has been sent or received by London VO and that is also not stated that my application is "IN PROCESS" the only thing written there is application received. I have not received any email or letter from London VO. Kindly explain.

Q2: She is living and working in Canada and I am in Denmark. The same she has mentioned in her application. What is if she moves to me now in Denmark and does do any work (we are missing each other). I am working in Denmark. Will it help if sponsor is working in Canada or does not matter if she moves here to me and we wait for the decision together OR may London VO ask for her job on a later stage? How sposnors job helps the case to be completed on time?

Kindly reply!
