I sent a copy of my boy's passport and citizenship cards with the application but that was it.
When my fiancé went into the immigration office in Edmonton the boys stayed with me outside.

@ Daisies :- When we registered for Alberta Health the boys got their own numbers and we have now been able to register them with a doctor/dentist etc with no problems. I know I was a bit vague last time we talked about it so now I know for sure that it's ok!!!
Oh great,,thanks for letting me know! :)

We used 1st Move International - they were very efficient and friendly, our stuff took 6 weeks from Brighton to Edmonton. Just make sure you get a quote door-to-door, or you'll need to go to a depot and pick your stuff up - total nightmare if you don't know anyone with a truck or have to rent one.

Thanks for the information, I will check the website out.
Was it terribly expensive!!

Morning

Hi All, my wife and I have just sent our application to Mississauga on the 8th. Wish us Luck! ;)

So we sent the receipt to London Office via email and received a confirmation from them saying that's sufficient.

Any idea if our application goes back to the bottom of the pile or do they continue with the process after receiving the receipt? I recall seeing that if you don't pay the permanent residence fee your application will be delayed. But we paid and somehow they just lost our receipt. The waiting part is killing us. >:(

hmmm...seems your application is taking much longer than many others...if not too personal, is your case extra complicated or something? Hope you get your Visa soon!

Other than the non-accompanying children and no medicals for them - our application is basic. Good health, no criminal record, has only lived in the UK, is a skilled worker. Issue I think really is the fact that we cannot provide medicals for the non-accompanying children, as my husbands ex partner would not cooperate. We did let CIC know this 6 weeks ago, and have not heard a word since. I've tried to get them to at least confirm that they got our response to their request - but that wasn't answered either. Issue with CIC really is the fact that they use snail mail and give deadlines for us to respond but they have no idea whether we receive there request at all and don't confirm receipt of emails or regular mail. Very frustrating process really. I really hope we hear something soon. My husband has a job here waiting for him - but not sure for how much longer.

Ah, now I remember your situation. It sure sounds very frustrating with the ex. Contacting CIC/London is a nightmare! Mississauga spelled my name wrong and it's wrong on e-cas too, I have sent 2 emails and one snail letter to London about it, but so far no replies and still misspelled name. Very annoying. I understand they're busy but so are most other jobs, and I have seldom come across an agency that's so difficult to communicate with!

I've even got my MP involved but that hasn't helped a bit. :o
