Thanks very much, it looks like Origin's entry there may be wrong also? I can't quite work out what's happened there but it seems rather out of place.

I'm sorry, I may still be a little sleepy as I can't see what is wrong with Origin's entry....can you give me a little more on what you may think is wrong....

They filed their app on 22/3/13
Sponsor approval 15/4
Extra Docs requested 24/5
Decision May 25/7

thanks

I thought this looked out of place too, and can't find any updates from this poster with the dates. Perhaps they were just a lucky fast one.
Thanks for maintaining the spreadsheet, it's very helpful to look at! Even if "willing" it to change does not work.

Yes, Origin's dates are actually correct. Just a very unusually fast processing time. Or at least fast compared to recently - a couple years ago that might have been the norm.

Hello all.

I think the answer is YES I CAN DO IT but I need to check...

Can I fly from UK to Canada to visit, stay with my gf, marry her, and apply for PR as a spouse to a Canadian citizen who is sponsoring me, but send as if I am from outside Canada?

I ask because I hear it is a lot quicker, but on form IMM0008 - Generic Application form for Canada, it asks me for my TO and UNTIL dates of my last entry to Canada. But then I am currently in Canada at time of application so I would leave the last date blank, or would I put the date that my current visiting visa runs out (usually 6 months after entry).

??

You are absolutely correct on all fronts. Just be prepared to answer some questions when you arrive! It's best to have a return ticket with you to prove that you can leave Canada should you have to.

But yeah, you are spot on!

Thank you! But I need to know what date to put as the 'UNTIL' part. Do I put the date the immigration control guy gives me that I leave at (usually 6 months after entry) or do I leave it blank as I am still in Canada at time of application?

Put it 6 months after your arrival, or whenever your return flight is booked for. If the VO has any issues, then they will amend it.

CoPR arrived...

However, it seems that London is once again being run by untrained staff.
They have applied "Conditional PR" to my document even though we have been married for over eight years.
I can't be bothered to argue with them over it as there is no way that it would stand up to scrutiny and I have no reason to believe that would ever be invoked. It does however go to show that they really are clueless there.

Sigh.. even at the last hurdle, they try to bring us down...

(Update: - I've raised a Case Specific Enquiry to get things clarified.)
Well, I got a reply back from my CSE today. They apologise for the error and want the CoPR back so that they can reissue a correct one, without the "Conditional PR" clause "urgently".

For anyone else that has had this same administrative error, you might wish to get yours corrected as well.

Isn't life just "fun"?

Oh my! I hope you hadn't booked flights already, that would be such a waste!! glad to see that it was "only" an administrative error and that they're willing to correct it right away, but still !

It's almost over!!

Don't worry. We're intending to land later in the year, so this is not a serious blow. I'm glad that it's going to be fixed however.
Now we are trying to figure out how to move everything over and preparing the B4/B4a docs.

Odd.. Still, at least you've reminded them that you exist. This might be the nudge that they need..
