Still Noting At My End - would be nice to hear something soon. Specially with MandiF getting the most speediest Turn Around. However we dont know how many applications went on 5/11 - could be 100 between me and Suze - Lets hope eh.

Well here's hoping "Magic Tuesday ECAS Update Day" brings you good news LOL :D

You must be bouncing off the walls - your waiting has me poised for your answer :)

Soon....

Worst thing is i dont have internet at work - Work in a secure Data Centre so i can only check when im on my breaks! and thats only on my WAP on my mobile! Keep worndering while im working, if i have an email!?

Any one know whether they prefer to send Emails over Letters? As your Post round here is crap!

I think alot of the difference in timeline can be down to the UK background check. I know when I was working at the Home Office myself and a colleague sent off background check forms on the same day. Mine was completed and sent back in 3 days, but my colleages took 6 weeks. Now I have no idea whether they use the same system for the PR applications but it could explain the difference in processing times!!! But anyway heres to hoping that london are clearing the backlog from christmas and that we all get some good news shortly :) I have to get out of the habit of checking my email every 10 minutes... it is driving me insane!!!! ???

Hey Rob, sorry you didn't hear anything today - must be so frustrating for you, especially as you don't have email access at work. You're right though, there could be tons of applications between you and I, even though we went into process on the same day. Also, who knows, maybe your IO took more holiday than mine over Christmas or something and has more applications to catch up on. Could be absolutely anything. I think they always email you the PPR first as long as you gave your email address in your application. My email said that they would also send me the form I needed to fill out by mail, but I haven't received that yet. Keeping fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!!! Keep smiling, you'll get there :)

Hi everyone,

This thread has been really helpful so thank you all for all your informative posts!

I am a Canadian sponsoring my husband and we both live in the UK. I was wondering if anyone had any advice in relation to "proof I plan to re-establish myself in Canada"? As I am a permanent resident in the UK, we just plan to stay here until my husband gets his PPR so we don't have jobs in Canada or a flat or anything like that. I was planning on sending a slightly more eloquent explanation of this as well as a letter from my parents stating that we are going to be staying with them initially.

Any other tips?

Thanks!

Hey LV - it's gotta be tougher doing it your way than ours - we're moving back in the beginning of March and I already have a job. Because we know when we're going I've been able to set up a bank account, get a gym membership, call my old Doctor to tell her I'm coming back and most importantly - I have a job offer!

I think if you don't know when you're going......write a page (attach it as a separate page to the back of that one form) stating how you will re-establish yourself; so living with your parents in **** town until you can find a property of your own in **** town. Some people have also printed emails or facebook posts where they are talking about how they can't wait to move or where other people are saying they are excited for when they finally come?

Best of luck!

Not sure that's quite right suze_h as I provided an email address and I never received an email and my Ecas still hasn't been updated, although the letter just arrived on Saturday.

Hopefully everyone else will get theirs through soon, you just never know why one gets it before another. I really do think it might have something to do with individual IOs, but really its all a bit of a draw. And I really do feel for everyone else, but can't be more excited or happy that mine came through when it did, now that I'm leaving the UK for Canada this on Wednesday.

Rock on MandiF - have a fab flight and make sure to toast your new life well!!! :D

Ah right, fair enough!! Never heard of anybody not getting an email if they've provided their email address, but either way, at least you got the request one way or another :) Have a safe flight and congrats again! My ECAS only changed to decision made about an hour ago and my passport request came on Thursday, so I don't think ECAS is too reliable!

Hi everyone!

From our experience with E-CAS with London is that it doesn't change often, or at all!

It still says "In Process" for my husband's application and his passport has already been requested.

Also, if you provided your e-mail or not, every case is different. My husband was contacted by e-mail AND post on various occasions. For example, when London notified him that an interview was required, they sent it in an e-mail. When they set a date for his interview, it was by post. When they requested for his passport, it was also by post.

It's unpredictable and each time it's different! I know other people who had ALL correspondence via e-mail and others that had all via post.

Good luck everyone and I hope this helps a little bit!

Hi all,

So has anyone had any news today?

I have a quick question for those of you who got additional information requests. Did these tend to come quite quickly after London got your file, or quite a long time afterwards. I'm just wondering as I haven't heard anything at all from London and I'm hoping in some ways that this is a good thing :D
