Out of interest, the spreadsheet for this year seems to have way less people than last year on it so far - obviously I imagine people pop up more in the second half of the year as they get curious about the status of their application, but does it seem to be quieter this year for you? That's encouraging! Spreadsheet updated.
I think for whatever reason, this is more to do with fewer people asking to go onto the spreadsheet than fewer people actually applying - I am completely reliant on people volunteering to be added to the spreadsheet via this thread!! I don't know why or what I can do to boost the visibility / publicise this spreadsheet. It is also 'fed' from the British Expats website and a similar thread on there.Out of interest, the spreadsheet for this year seems to have way less people than last year on it so far - obviously I imagine people pop up more in the second half of the year as they get curious about the status of their application, but does it seem to be quieter this year for you?
A shame as it is such an amazing and helpful resource! Some useful advice on precisely this here:Got the letter asking for further proof my sponsor is planning to return to Canada with me:
"Please provide proof that your sponsor intends to reside in Canada when you become a permanent resident. This includes but is not limited to copies of correspondence with: potential employers, real estate companies, property rental agencies, health care agencies, insurance agencies, financial institutions, etc."
Does anyone have any advice on proof where we haven't really got the above?
* Potential employers - she works in a relatively low paid field in the UK and given we haven't had a date to move back we haven't started making contact with employers
* Real estate/rental - again, not having an idea when we will move we don't have contact with them as for rental agencies you need a target date to realistically view properties. We have looked at plenty websites, but no correspondence with agencies. Just browsing!
* Healthcare - no reason to contact them
* Insurance/financial - we are young and not bringing over assets. Her savings remain in Canada and have the whole time she has lived here.
Funnily enough we had begun to plan this past two weeks for moving in October, with me under dual intent if the visa wasn't through. But so far this has only involved telling her friends in Toronto and asking them to keep an eye out for rentals and more looking at rental websites. We had planned over the next couple of weeks to do things like book flights etc but given this will now be after the date of the letter we're not sure how much value this holds.
Edit: Things I've been able to dig out include email conversations between us following a moving quote for all our stuff (including her furniture that she shipped over here when she moved), email conversations following a quote for shipping our cats over, and an email from me to her parents with details of what we'd like them to send out to their friends in Toronto about helping us find a place to live, which I'm hoping they sent out prior to getting the proof request. Her parents live in the UK which I guess is part of why they're unsure she intends to return to Canada.

Thanks! Should have thought to check the wiki Encouraged to read that it is common to receive a request for more info. I've already started preparing a bunch of things evidencing our plans like instant messaging screengrabs, more recent emails, etc. We're also taking it as a signal the application is progressing and we can confidently make more concrete plans, so hopefully those things will help. Some useful advice on precisely this here:

Yes, I wouldn't get too worked up about it or read anything particularly sinister into it!Thanks! Don't hold your breath. The Hong Kong Visa office is responsible for PR applications from:Recently I heard applications in HK office have been moving very fast....Even the applicants who applied in March have already received pre-arrival services letters and now in background check. Many people who applied in Feb are already in background checks. I hope London Office can get faster..!!! It only takes around 6 months from files delivered to DM in HK Visa office now on average. LVO needs to accelerate!!
