Sarim if you look at the spreadsheet you are the second applicant who applied in June 2015 to get DM. Without any documents requested from LVO this is 99% a positive decision. Because you are non-visa exempt you should receive a request for your passport soon.

Two acceptances for June?! Wow! I did notice that both applicants are non visa exempt though... I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Hi guys, help needed please.

Today I received the following from CIC:

Please be advised that your child. ---------------------, appears to meet the definition of a dependent child. Please provide an explanation of the efforts you have made to try to contact your daughter for the purposes of having her undergo a medical examination and also, on her behalf, provide a completed Schedule A form, an up-to-date police certificate and a photocopy of her passport. Please be advised that, if you are unable to have your child examined as a non-accompanying dependent, you must provide a declaration of non-examination of a dependent and ineligibility to sponsor in the future. Please provide a signed statutory declaration indicating that you understand the consequences of failing to have your family member examined (blank template attached). Please submit requested documentation to us within 45 days, including a copy of this email as a cover letter. Please submit all the above documents to us at the same time, quoting your file number on all correspondence, including on the envelope.Please note that a new police certificate and new medical examination for yourself are not required at this time.

So, this is my partner's daughter whom they are referring to. We have not seen nor heard from her in ten years, nor do we know where she lives. We are unable to provide the documents on her behalf as they have asked, so will be filling in the signed statutory declaration they have asked for and that they attached to the letter. What my question is, is this: they ask for a "declaration of non-examination of a dependent and ineligibility to sponsor in the future" - is this a form??? Because it seems to me they are asking for two forms, but have only attached one and I am confused as to what I might need to fill out. Have looked on the internet but can't find much info regarding a declaration of non-examination of a dependent.

The form that they have attached reads like this: I.................fully understand that failure to have my children named below examined as part of my immigration application prevents me from ever being able to sponsor them in the future as per R117(9)(d) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.

So, are they just asking for this form or another one???? Advice gratefully received....wish they would make their bloody instructions more clear!

Right .. i hate cic and there stupid letters. You daughter is non accompany and you do not intend to ever sponsor her . What you need to do is send the letter back as instructed with what you have said here, then attach the blank template that they attached with the declaration that your non accompany is not coming and you will give up your rights to ever sponsor her in the future. You can't fill in Schedule A because you don't have any knowledge of where she is nor can you provide a passport or medical or photos. Write all of this in the letter. Return the email to the sender this will insure the officer whom sent you the email will see it.

it's possible, or it may just be that that the first two June applicants in the forum are non visa exempt. the May applicants that have been approved have all been visa exempt, but the first May applications in the forum are all visa exempt. in all selfishness, i'm hoping it's just that the first June applicants are non visa exempt, because i'm just a few days past them. my fingers are crossed so tightly they are turning blue hahaha

i'm thinking LVO is pushing through a few applications from each month in order to bring the average processing time down from 28 months to something a bit more reasonable, and if that's the case, they may not be distinguishing between exempt and non exempt applications - they may just be grabbing a few off the top of each month's pile. that's my guess, anyway.

Lol, I hate their stupid letters too!!! They are incredibly unclear and really poorly written! Thank you so much for your advice. We are going to send the notarised declaration with an accompanying letter of explanation and hope for the best!!!

I totally agree, they sent me a letter saying
Repeat medical are required for you and,if your dependent is accompanying you to Canada ,for your dependent also ..
so my husband went and had is repeat medical done . I then sent an email to London saying he was still not coming to Canada and last week they sent an email requesting a repeat medical for my step son. They also said that they had not received any communication from us since July 17th which is a lie.

My package arrived July 3rd so I am secretly hoping that the process is just speeding up. It's odd how some people have been approved in may and then it skipped straight to June. I wonder if it's just one very quick officer getting through their pile.

Hi Taffy7 - so, if your dependent is not immigrating with you, did you still have to do a medical and a police check for him? We are being asked for a medical and a police check for my partner's daughter, even though we have no contact with her, even though she is in fact 19 years old and even though she is definitely not immigrating with us.
