From my google and forum search it appears to have been Vegreville and now is Mississauga (someone correct me if I'm wrong) of inland. Looks like he really really needs his notes to confirm that LVO is processing his applications as Outland ever though he applied as Inland. If they are processing him as Outland, then why is it taking so long.

UGH wrote a response and then Chrome crashed. Bah!

Okay, first, regarding processing offices.
This was discussed back in 2013 when the whole Islamabad thing started, and two immigration consultants and a retired CIC visa officer weighed in with their opinions. Basically there *is* a method that is used to determine which application goes where, and it's likely based on whatever internal system they use to manage and track case loads. For example, if Mississauga has approved a lot of applications recently, then the next SA applications through will go to Mississauga. If an office is lagging. Other streams opening up also means certain offices have bigger work loads, so applications sometimes get rerouted based on those other streams, and so on and so forth. There are a number of factors that weigh into an officer's decision, but ultimately it is down to the officer's discretion on which office gets the app based on those different factors. We simply don't see those factors on this side of the fence, so lay off.

Second, regarding CL vs M.
Again, this has been debated/discussed with the retired visa officer, who pointed out that actually CL applications are WAY easier to process simply because the burden of proof is so much greater than with married applications. You have to provide so much additional evidence if your relationship being genuine that it's pretty hard to fake it. Way more rejected applications are married applications.

And btw, implying that arranged marriages are more likely to be disingenuous is both ignorant and incorrect, it's simply the norm in some cultures, and there are plenty of people who have been married for decades who were matched up through arranged marriages.

Moving on from all that now as it just angers me.

Hi guys,

I just saw a message in my ecas today .. Under sponsorship it says "Decision Made" with a new line "We sent you a letter on May 5, 2015 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

I thought they will send me an email, but it says I will receive in mail.

Problem is I just moved to a new address, I did update my address online but it not worked (changed on April 3, 2015 and online shows my old address). Not sure if the mail will be delivered at my old place or my current one. Bit confuse about what to do.. any idea how can I solve?
As others have said, you should be able to find out from the call centre within a week or so if you haven't heard anything.

I think it was late 2013 that inland applications stopped being sent to Vegreville and were changed to be sent to Mississauga instead. However, I've never heard of an inland app being sent to London... that's certainly weird. If the MP hasn't been able to get anywhere, though, it might be worth him sitting tight...

Oh good, a fire drill.

CiC confirmed on the phone (Friday) that my wife has been approved as a sponsor. No email/letter from them yet, ecas not changed, and they weren't able to tell us which visa office the application is going to.

So, good news I guess, just wish they'd be a little better with communication!

Updated in the spreadsheet! I think something's upw tih Mississauga's communications right now as you are not the first to go through this... I wonder if the issuance of a billion IEC permits, which is happening right now, is affecting things. (I am totally guessing.)

Thanks :)

We rang earlier last week (after ringing the week before and being told to call back in a week, as they had emailed CPCM to find out what was happening), and they told us that she was approved, but that it wasn't confirmed yet. So we rang back a few days later and that had changed to SA.

Seems to be a bit of a mess for some, for sure

My 6 month month visitor Visa is about to expire in just over 30 days so I need to get on this.
Couple of questions, how important is it that I have a return ticket to the UK when I apply for the extension?
I manged to get in on a one way ticket and have since done a trip to the US and back without an issue.
I've got another ticket to the US booked in June (to get married) but this is 2 weeks after the visa expires.
I don't really have a need for a UK ticket other than to satisfy this purpose.
Proof of Means of Financial Support - this would be covered in the sponsorship approval?
I did the eligibility check and used these as the answers, is this right for the situation?
Q: What would you like to do in Canada? A:Visit
Q: How long are you planning to stay in Canada? A: Temporarily - more than 6 months

I can't add this to my profile so details about my status

In my case the agents (I called twice) that they do not have any access to confirm about the decision. So far they and I, only know that decision has been made and letter will be sent soon.

We are very happy as the COPR arrived in the mail today! We are very lucky that our application went so smoothly and there weren't any issues.

Thank you everyone for all the help that we've gotten on this forum, people's knowledge and kindness has been really appreciated!

Wow! That`s good to hear! Who did you call to get that info? My experience with the CIC call centre was less than useful...

I am just applying for my forth extension. I have never had a return ticket and have had no problems so far. That is exactly how I answer those eligibility questions.
With regards to the proof of financial support, these are the guidelines for visitor visa extension..

If you are visiting Canada, you must prove that you can support yourself and the family members accompanying you while you are in Canada by providing as many of the following documents:

your bank statements for the past four months
a bank draft in convertible currency
pay stubs
an employment letter
proof of assets or business
proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees
tax reports, declarations or statements
proof of a student/education loan from a financial institution
a letter from the person or institution providing you with money
proof of funding paid from within Canada, if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program
proof of a Canadian bank account in your name if money has been transferred to Canada

If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile.

Your financial profile includes a listing of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts. The official letter must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include your name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the balance of each account over the previous 6 months.

You must scan all proof of funds documents and save them as one file.
I uploaded my bank statements from home and here and our joint account statements (4 months worth). I also wrote a separate letter of explanation detailing that we had a spousal sponsorship application in progress, and that my partner was approved as my sponsor and would support me too. I included a screenshot of ECAS as well. I stated I was aware that I would need to leave Canada at the end of my visa, should my PR application be denied and stated the ties I still have back in the uk.

Hope this helps? Good luck

Before I add you to the spreadsheet where is the principal applicant located? Closest city is fine if you do not want to be too specific.

I'm on the spreadsheet, I just meant having the details under my name on the left.
Looks like I have to make a few more posts to have that user level though.

As per ecas my sponsorship decision was made on 5th May ... it is mentioned 8th in spreadsheet ...

However, I still have not received any mail/email from cic regarding the decision.
