Just a quick question to any non-visa exempt applicants or anyone who has any knowledge about such processes. Is there any time frame of how long the background check takes time on a regular basis (i.e. not in extreme cases)? I was looking at the table and it seems FK22, AfShe, Srehal, and chopsticks are all still waiting. Is any of your cases dealing with special circumstances? My case is quite straight forward but it seems to be dragging on and on for no reason. Thanks a lot for any useful information.

I have been wondering this too. I'm starting to think not being exempt is a special circumstance... I'm hoping the others just don't visit here as much and they have news.

My case is straight forward first marriage for the both of us, both in our 20s, no kids, and no criminal records. I really have no idea what they are doing with non visa exempt applicants.
Now our medical has expired so I am expecting them to delay this even longer! :(

Hi
My wife applied my sponsorship from Quebec and her PRC also in Process when she online checked her status she can also see my Application as well and my status is showing (Decision Made).
I am in London and when i checked my status online its showing Application Received and Medical have been received

Why its showing two different status any comments

Regards

Chopsticks, did your husband already have an interview? If so, can you tell us when? I had mine already and they said it was all good, but since then they went back to sleep again it seems!

No my husband has not had an interview, they never mentioned anything about an interview to us.
I think it is waived because we went in process, but lets see cant be sure until we get the PR.

I think this thread is pretty dull because we have such a long wait and we hardly ever get any updates from the London office :(

Hi,
Are you sure it is your status that shows 'decision made' and not hers?
Because this process has 2 stages and both stages have different statuses.

How long is the waiting time at the moment.. in average? I have few friends who got their apps processed through London 1-2 years ago and they told me that it doesn't take more than 3-4 months to get the PR. Now when I'm reading this stuff from here, I think the processing time is much longer than what they had back then... :(

You are right chopsticks, there is barely anything happening so we are just waiting without much said on this thread. Did London give any explanations to why your case is taking this long with no interview?

Seriously! If I had known that London would be this slow, we would have gone through India instead. It's painful to watch NDVO issue visas to people who were approved around the same time I was. I'm lucky if they even start processing our application by May at this rate. My husband's UK visa will be expired by the time we hear anything from CIC. I keep praying that they won't call him for an interview so that we don't have to deal with UKBA too, but it looks like they are calling most non visa exempt applicants for interviews.

Oh well. end venting.

Hi,
Are you visa exempt or non visa exempt?
I see you have landed in Canada already so you may be visa exempt and for you this process will be faster than all of us on this thread.
You should try the official UK thread for more accurate process timings for your case :)

Yeah there is never much to say other than 'still waiting'
Nope they never told us why they didnt ask us for an interview and we never asked. Not like they would have given us an explanation even if we did ask lol :P

I know this is so frustrating!
It would really help if they gave non visa exempt applicants a time frame as well, cause as of now the only data we have is the spreadsheet on this forum!

I have no idea :D at least I don't need a visa to enter Canada.. so I guess that makes me visa exempt? ::)
Thanks for your answer chopsticks!! I'll join that other thread.
