I got decision made on e-cas this morning AND an email from Buffalo asking for my passport. What a good morning!

Well.....I had my heart-stopping moment today... PPR arrived by post! I was so shocked I had to go ask my neighbour to read it with me to make sure it was real and I wasn't dreaming! Can't wait to tell my husband. I'm wearing my roots canada shirt, we'll go surprise him at work when toddler 1 wakes!! My poor mum here in Australia is going to want to kill me. She knew we had applied but was in denial we would be leaving. Will be hard to break the news to her.

Here is the updated table, let me know if I need to change any of the details. Good luck everyone, it's magical, you never know what the day will bring. The frustration, patience, stress, anger, joy, worry, anxiety, heartache... all valid emotions because it IS incredibly stressful this waiting period so I feel for you who are still waiting like I was every day - checking that e-cas, email and post box like someone with OCD. The decision you want will also be here soon.

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

well, I'm already here (in Vancouver), although I have a bunch of stuff in storage over the border in Washington that I'll need to get and move up with a uhaul trailer. I'll get my stuff and land as soon as I get my passport back and then following weekend comes. I'll need to go on the weekend so my partner can come with me. Also, I'm needing to pay off my car so I'll have to wait for the title before I land also, so that could delay it. I'm hoping for the weekend of 4/23 as I doubt I would get everything back by the 16th.

Oh Canadayogini, I am soooo pleased for you. I was really rooting for you to get your PPR because of your circumstances with the new baby bump! I would have hated to see you have to give up on your dream and start the whole process again in a few years. I am so happy for you. Any idea when you are going yet? Yes, it is hard on family that you are leaving behind but I am sure deep down they want you to be happy. I bet your husband was over the moon when you told him. Excellent news and started my day off right!! ;D

Just got back from the travel agent and we bought our ticket home. So things are moving ahead for us. July 27th I will be back home in Canada. Well maybe the 28th with some sort of delay with the planes.
