Is there anyone who hasn't heard anything from their Visa Office yet?

After the sponsorship approval (mid June) we haven't heard anything anymore.

Getting worried ...

It shouldn't take more than a couple business days for them to confirm whether or not they found it.

The first time I asked for confirmation, it took maybe 2 days for a reply, and it was really specific E-Mail stating that it was found and added to my file. The E-Mail was only one sentence long and had no signature. It was kind of weird for a government response, but felt like a personal message, if that makes sense.

The second time, and after they sent a letter requesting my FBI anyway (and I assumed it was gone with the wind at that point!), it took maybe 2 or 4 days, and was an automated response telling me that my application was in processing and that they'd contact me if they needed anything else.

Hope this is helpful!

hey Jello,

i emailed them and this is an update:

We have requested background information from other government

so apparently my background check is being looked in to! im 23 a girl no record been a jersey girl my whole life in a small town :( no arrest no driving ticket nothing! >:( my parents r pakistani so maybe thats y they r being strict

2 things with the background check:

1. Their additional background check is a standard procedure. Even though we send them the FBI certificate, they still run additional checks for everyone. Sometimes it takes longer than others depending on your own personal history, which is where "#2" comes in.

2. CIC also runs checks on your immediate family. I remember reading on here a long time ago someone ran into some issues because their father was believed to have worked for some terrorist organization or something like that. I think these tests are standard for everyone as well, but again the time frame can vary.

On the up-side, you got a rather detailed response for any government office! At least they let you know what was going on to a point. Good luck!

but if i have no record i should be fine right? my dad works for the US government and has security clearance ;D
so do you think i am close to the finish!!!? (my husband wasnt given permission to enter the US in 09 due to extended stay but hes the sponsor)

Well sure, as long as they find no suspicious activity in yours or your family's history, you're good to go. And on the husband unable to enter the US thing, not sure if you've read my story, but my Canadian husband is actually banned from the US. He was approved to Sponsor, and we don't think that will be an issue unless I tried to sponsor him to come here.

As for almost being done... that's a tough call for anyone to make except the IO. :(

well i know the background checks should be fine! im sorry to hear that was he banned permanently or just the 5 year ban.. my husband just needs to provides ties to Canada which he did but was still not permitted we need strong evidence.

i guess this email has given me hope that by end of october ill hear good news bc the background checks are the last step :) !

He was given the 10 year ban, actually. Lived here illegally but as a MINOR which is why his ban was so stupid (and all the border officers agree, but hey.) Punished for his mother's actions. >:(

Good luck SaugaBoss!!! I hope you get your PPR soon!

Like others have already said, that's a good and detailed response. I'm glad you were able to get an answer from them.

We're also very, very alike. I'm 21 and also a Jersey girl, small town, no record. So, I really feel you will be just fine. <3

Hi everyone,

I applied Inland to Vegreville on 20 May 2010. I applied through a lawyer so I have no direct contact with the visa offices. My lawyer has advised me that I will be contacted as soon as they receive word from Vegreville.

I'm just wondering has anyone who applied for PR inland around May heard anything yet? Anyone receive an E-CAS number yet?

It's been 4 months and we've heard nothing. So unnerving this whole process!!

Inland takes a good deal longer than outland from what I have heard. Hang in there :)

Thanks. It's so hard to be patient sometimes :o

Checked my email today and got my PPR!!!!!!

Two weeks to the day after my transfer to Detroit!!! :o I can hardly believe it , I mean, I hoped of course. Payday is tomorrow so I'll be heading out to get our photos in order and it looks like (barring some tragedy) I will without a doubt have my OHIP before the baby comes! THANK GOODNESS!!! :P :P :P *booty shaking* :P :P :P

So my processing time was a week and a half shy of five months I cannot wait to tell the hubs!
