Congrats on the weightloss Thats awesome..I have lost 10lb and seem to have got stuck at that point!! Oh well 10lb is better than nothing!bobshynoswife said:I'm getting ready to do the happy dance when you get your good news! You're back home now, right? Happy to be there I'm sure. Although TO is fine, there is no place like home.
BTW...thought I'd let you know that I'm down 47 pounds since applying! We have booked husband a flight for Sept 9 hoping that he gets his visa on the 24th. (booked on points, so even if we have to change it a few times, it is way better than paying for a short-notice one way flight!) and I hope to be down another 20 pound by then, and knock his socks off at the airport!
I think about you often...
Laura
Sorry you are so frustrated, and I agree about it being horrible being a non-person to some extent.sbwv09 said:Buffalo wrote back:
Permanent resident applications are created in our database and acknowledgement of receipt letters are sent to the applicant within 30 weeks of receipt. Any application submitted without the required documents and information will be returned to the applicant.
30 weeks.. I'm just so close to giving in and just waiting it out in the states now.. at least I could work there.. at least I had some rights.. we pay 1000+ for this?
They won't even spell check their form letters.. seriously?
Just so discouraged right now.. I know I shouldn't be, but I am.
Ah, not quite. As I understand it, Canada (almost?) always uses english spellings, hence "acknowledgement". "Acknowledgment" without the "e" is the american variant.sbwv09 said:It's "acknowledgment" ... it is one of the most commonly misspelled words, but you think that a government agency would do better.. I wouldn't have minded if it was good news!
I got an email with similar information back when our application was approved for sponsorship and I wanted to know if I should send the fingerprints. It wont take 30 weeks. I bet yours will update next Tuesday. I was very discouraged this last week.sbwv09 said:Buffalo wrote back:

I agree..I have noticed there are some words that are spelt differently in Canada V's USA...And the same with UK V's USA & Canada...lynw said:Ah, not quite.
