Rachel, I was thinking about this situation when I did not receive PPR for so long. I read somewhere on the forum, maybe it was some other link, that the IO would wait for 30-45 days and would try to contact you via another medium i.e., e-mail, phone, perhaps send out another letter. Hope you have given more options in your app. to contact u! I remember last year, in our previous PR application, I received a letter issued by CHC-ND after 30 days!!!! It was very annoying n frustrating! N it was clearly stated that response should be sent within 30 days!! We rushed to the embassy the next day and were told that they understand these situations and generally give another week or 2 to respond. If they still do not hear anything, they contact you via other means, e-mail, phone, etc.! Another thought >> Obviously, I though if so much time had passed, I would email the visa office or send out a case specific query online and express concern!! Hope u receive it at the earliest! Good luck! I have a feeling you will receive it the following week for sure!

Xyrus--i am so relieved reading your post. Its so nice to know that CHC tries to contact us if they didnt get any response from us. So you have undergone this already! I too was thinking of contacting them via email if i dont hear anything from them.

Thank you so much for your positive thoughts and i really pray that you get visa stamped soon since you are going through this all again. Could you tell me whether your sponsor is a canadian citizen or PR holder? since i read in your previous posts that you got rejected last time because your sponsor was with you in india.

Correct! She was here the entire time our file was in process...... till it got refused n she RAN back to Canada a week later - last week of Jan '10 ..lol! Last time, I feel we were so ignorant! :( but its all behind us! this forum is enlightening, wish I became a member last yr.!!! BTW, she is a citizen! FYI - PR holders are required to be within Canada for sponsoring...

Citizens can be out of the country while app. is in progress but have to prove ties! thats the reason it got refused! we could not convince the IO that she would go back if PR was granted to me! they asked for our re-establishment plans but I guess we failed to convince them!

Hey all,

Great news - my British husband just got an email asking for his passport for the issuing of the PR! He recieved the email (which had a formal letter attached) on July 22nd.

Can't believe it's been processed so quickly! We both in shock actually!

Hey minku9! Im sure u both will receive PPR this week! cz u guys got approved one week later! so im very, very sure!!! U both r in my prayers!

We did not appeal! We were advised not to as i think it was not required, cz per our case situation, the reason for refusal was pretty simple & straight forward i.e. my wife's ties to Canada ... thats y she went back immediately and applied from there.... and is leading a normal life there as any citizen would till now, e.g. - job, apt. lease, etc...

So we wanted to keep it simple & on fast track! Decided to submit a fresh application all over again. I think appeal is a long and expensive process. BTW, we hired a immigration consultant just for the purpose of ensuring all the paperwork is in order/complete. We were not expecting much anyway! So he fit in well to our needs.....

Well, its too early to say anything right now. We'll find out if we took the right decision in a few weeks' time =) I'll break down if it's otherwise! Will keep u all posted!

Hey guys,

So London request some more proof that me and my partner lived together for 12 months.. I am sending them more proof this week. It says in the e-mail please allow them 3-4 months to view the correspondence!!!! 3-4 months!! That is a huge delay.. Has anyone experienced this and does it really take an extra 3-4 months once i send them more proof?

Thanks

>:( Nothing for us either. Can't stand how long this takes. We are in the process of packing everything so that I (sponsor) and our daughter can move so that she can start school at the end of August. My DH is going to stay here until the visa is issued but at this rate we have no idea how long this is going to take. :(

i know its ridiculous

There's 2 client id's one for the sponsor one for the applicant

the sponsor says decision made and i got the AOR saying sent to Buffalo...the applicant says nothing.

i called the call center they said email or fax buffalo for update and they give no response! besides we will let u know if we need anythng..

Buffalo needs to shape up.. I mean, I wouldn't be so annoyed if they had actually let me know the thing is there, even if we did have to wait several more months for PPR, but to not even give us any notice or information? Pretty sure a consulate located in America could do a better job.. I've seen other people email the IO working on their case personally and have correspondence, but Buffalo will never give you any information except that you have to wait longer!

i receivied my AOR today
