I got a call today from CIC-M today in response to a fax I sent then regarding the FBI check. They tol me they are processing May 3 today and should get to our file before he end of the week!

It's beginning for us 'May' folk!

The lady told me she received my husband's fax of his (updated police certificate) and has attached it to our file, and that she was returning some documents of proof of income. (since they don't need those for Mississauga)...I was kind of unsure If I should ask her any questions...I guess it's a good sign! However, I still can't login to ecas.
Sent application May 6 (probably arrive May 10, 2010)

I can't log in to ecas either but hopefully by weeks end we will. My phone call was pretty much the same thing. I hope the person reviewing was as friendly as the the person who called.

Hello fellow May-ers!

Just looking for some opinions...

I understand I am allowed to visit my partner while the application is in process and so was thinking of going over to visit July 22nd for 6 weeks which would bring me back to England beginning of Sept... By September it will only of been 3 & half months since I applied. Do you think I would get called for an interview or they would request my passport by then? Bearing in mind I shouldn't be hearing back from Mississauga until end of June....I don't want to delay anything but I also would like to visit for roughly 6 weeks? hmmmm, What do you think?

Laura, I think you should be ok. Even if they want you to interview I believe that it takes awhile for it to be scheduled. Also for the passport, I don't think you have to send it in RIGHT away, so you could finish out your trip first.

I think you're right.. Plus if Mississauga approve it at the end of June it may not be until mid/end of August that London start looking at the application. I think i will book the flight

I agree...however, I'm wondering the same thing for my husband. ( I'm applying for him). He'll be coming in on the 20th of this month. Hope his io is very nice and allows him to stay at least for 6 months...I'll be 7 months pregnant on the 21st, and would love for him to get at least 6 months so he can help me through the birth etc... then, we'll apply for an extension!!!

You should be ok, love.. remember as long as they don't write a 'leave by' date on the passport he automatically gets 6 months I'm sure you know to have proof of ties to his home country, etc etc

Did they actually receive it on the 3rd or did you mail it on the 3rd. That will make a difference? We mailed on the 3rd and they got it on the 5th.

We mailed it on April 29th, they received it on May 3rd.
