Landed Via Peace Arch Port of Entry today!

Super easy and smooth, we had filled out our B4 and B4a forms prior, took a drive down to Bellingham for some shopping and groceries and then headed home for the landing.

Went inside immigration, handed over the paperwork, COPR, B4, B4a and PP with visa. Waited, signed some stuff and DONE!

Can't believe we are done! Goodluck to everyone! I'll be lurking to congrats you all soon!

Well just wanted to let you all know about our experience at the Detroit Ambassador bridge.

We did the cross country drive to have hubs come for a "visit" to wait out this process. When we got up to the booth, the girl asked citizenships, the normal questions, when it came to how long he was staying, he answered a few months. We explained that we had the PR application in process, had the paperwork (receipts, sponsorship approval, undertaking and a print out of the E-cas screen from his file) she looked it all over, made a phone call, verified we were married, and then told us to have a good day.

She did ask me what I was bringing back, so I told her the approximate dollar value, and what we had picked up from Duty free. She did not ask whatsoever what he was bringing with him, even though the back of the car was full of totes and stuff. We were well prepared to be sent into secondary with the paperwork and to go through everything, but I guess it was our lucky day that day.

So all in all hubs is here and visiting us for the rest of this visit...heres hoping all goes well and quickly for the rest of this. We have made it to medicals received, so we are checking the emails waiting and waiting for the PPR email....

mossee, did you export/import a car? And how much detail did you go into on your B4/B4a -- down to serial numbers, or general descriptions (ie, "Box: Personal Items", "Box: Clothes")? Just want to make sure I have a smooth landing too :D

@ Fizzle

No we didn't import his car, thank god I hate it!
We put down serial numbers for all the electronics he had (TV, PS3, guitar, amp etc) and then we just put down general descriptions for the furniture. ie. wood desk, black leather couch.
I just included all items that you would not normally bring over during a visit. And for the value we just put the appox. value. We actually didn't include anything regarding his clothes since it would only be like 1 box of clothes and the description would be very vague.

One Step Closer, everyone!

I mentioned earlier in the week that I would email Buffalo to request status and a file number for my application and, voila!!! Response within 24 hours providing my application file #. Also my E-cas has been updated to now say 'in process' . Great to know that I am in the system and moving forward!

Whew!!!!

Good luck all!

p.s. : Whomever updates the March list, please add my 'in process date' as July 12.

Thanks!

Hi,

Here is our time line, I'm a Canadian living in Montreal and sponsoring my husband who's from the US:

- Application sent on March 7th
- Sponsorship approved on April 8th
- PR application received in Buffalo on April 14th
- CSQ received mid-May
- RFPR fees paid at the end of May

Never received AOR nor file number, and e-cas still says "application received"
So I e-mailed Buffalo last Thursday and they got back to me on Friday saying:

"Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

Regards,

Canadian Consulate General Buffalo

Immigration Section

buffalo-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca"

With the file number starting with a F in the subject of the e-mail.

Is it a good sign, does it mean that the file as been opened and they're looking at it right now ? A lot of people who applied in March seemed to have news recently, hopefully it means that we are near the end. I was surprised that they replied almost right away when I read other applicants had to send a lot of e-mails and never got answers.

Thanks

pcdmontreal: the file number serves as an indication that you have AOR, but I would doubt that you're in process yet.

My sponsorship approval was April 29, the file transfer was May 6th and I am in process....and that's according to the email like pcdmontreal got as well as Ecas....so it is possible that they are in process in Buffalo

Same here for me:

Sponsorship Approval: April 18
Application Received in Buffalo: April 28
E-cas status changed to 'In process': July 14 ( I emailed buffalo on 7/11 for a status update and they replied on 7/13 with a File #)

I hope I'm close!!!

Landed at Peace Arch today. Got held up entering the US (I was staying in Vancouver with my wife), had to go in the building and stand in line where the guy filled out a form denying me entry to the US so I could flagpole... even though I told him multiple times that I had to drive down to a lot in Blaine to park my car for a few days to export it. An hour later and I finally get across the border into Washington, park my car, meet up with my wife who crossed after me in a separate car, and then head back to the border to finish landing.

Took maybe 20 minutes; pretty painless. I handed the lady my COPR, passport, and B4A, then was directed to have a seat... my name was called after a short wait and I returned to the counter where I signed some forms and was welcomed to Canada. She gave me a little Canadian flag and lapel pin :3

It's a relief to finally be done with everything! I still need to visit a Service Canada center and get a SIN assigned, but the waiting, the anxiety, the stress -- done! To everyone still waiting, I pray an end comes soon and you will be happy in Canada too :)

Congrats fizzle! we didn't get a flag or lapel pin JEALOUS!

Congrats!! What was your process for bringing over the car? I haven't really looked at what needs to be done to bring my hubs car over.

here is a website I used for information about importing a car....I even called the information number who had an amazing rep on the phone who gave me a lot of answers and even a reference number that if I had to call back with more questions they could pull up the original conversation....

www.riv.ca

I was trying to do a direct link but its not working at this point in time....if you search Registrar of Imported Vehicles that will give you the link....
