Hooray!!! Going to Canada!!!

Does anyone know about how long it takes between the time I send in my passport and the time I receive my visa?

It states 15 BUSINESS days on the CIC site, it took ours 14 Business days to be returned to my hands, we also used 1 day shipping via UPS.

and CONGRATS!!!

I got my PPR today...."We are now in a position to request passports for visa issuance."

I have until August 8, 2011 to submit it together with photos.

I hope this frees up more time for our friends in Nov-Feb groups.

Congrats, Boomerang! Hope the rest of our process goes smoothly. Keep us posted!

Thanks!

Thanks, mossee! I just got through the links sent in the email and saw that they indeed show 15 days on the CIC site. Now to sell the house!

Congratulations on receiving your visa! Let us know how landing goes.

Did the passport request come in a regular mail to the Permanent Residence Applicant only or was the sponsor sent an email as well?

Ours came via e-mail to the applicant.

ECAS updated for me today:

A decision has been made on fizzlefunk's application. The office will contact fizzlefunk concerning this decision.

I received PPR via email on June 20th, so I already figured a decision had been made, but wanted to note this. It's official, marking 116 days from filing to approval for my case.

Mine came via e-mail to the applicant. I don't believe they intend to send anything via post because they probably would've mentioned it in their e-mail. The e-mail gave links to pages with instructions.

Hello all:

Well, I decided to email Buffalo to see if I have a file # yet, just to make sure there's nothing outstanding that I need to get them. I'll be happy if they reply with a 'no action needed at this time" email and a File # for my application. Fingers crossed!

Will let you all know what the reply is if/when I get one.

Thanks! And good luck to you all!

I emailed the office the other day, and I got a response in less than 24 hours that my application is in process and that no further documentation is needed at this time, and they gave me a file number. To this day I have no received any other communication from them except the sponsorship approval letter.

I think I got everyone's. I'm super jealous of the people from buffalo with ppr that applied after us. :'(

Thanks Tulamoon! Gives me faith!

Cheers!

Congrats to everyone who has received their good news recently! Gives us all hope!!

Tulamon, if you wouldn't mind updating the chart, this is my current info:

App Sent: March 22/11
App rec'd: March 24/11
Transfer: May 3/11
In Process June 13/11
AOR: June 13/11

(My AOR and In Process were received in response to an email I sent to Buffalo to change our address) We are now currently waiting for hopefully a PPR... I'm just scared that they didn't update our info because my husband no longer has access to the old email addy he used on our original app. I wish there was some sort of confirmation that they send out to confirm that Buffalo has received and processed our change of info request.

Done! :)

I'm trying to not think about this as much as possible... but man seeing everyone else's progress and then not really having much of our own, is kind of discouraging.

We recently emailed Buffalo again to ask about submitting additional information for the background form, as well as an address update as I have moved since our docs were submitted, and they actually did respond this time! They provided us a file number, and said we were in queue for review, that an exact review schedule was not available, and that no further info was needed. They also mentioned if our residential or mailing address changed, it was up to us to notify their office. Uhhh, that's why I was emailing you! :D Nice to get a reply though, and our file number!
