We got our ppr today! Finally.

Question, they say in the letter you need proof of funds? I thought that was all ready established when sponsorship was approved, I'm confused.
Congratulations!!

Ok all Marcher's....our spreadsheet has been updated with the information that I have...if you have info to fill in the blanks...let me know!!!

11 of the 13 Buffalo people that filed in March have already gotten PPR, so Marchers going through Buffalo have actually flown by quite fast, given that there are still people waiting from Dec., Jan., and Feb. Someone who filed May 27th has even gotten his PPR already.

Does PPR stand for permanent residency? Sorry, I don't know the lingo. I applied through Buffalo (they received my app in March) and I'm still waiting. Seriously, this morning it's really, truly getting to me. I'm so frustrated, and if you're saying that most people who applied through Buffalo in March have already gotten their residency and I haven't...well honestly it makes me want to break down in tears right now. :(

That buffalo spreadsheet is depressing :(. I think I've got the longest processing time. I wonder if we had paid the fee with the original application if I'd already have my visa? Bummer. We even hired a lawyer to help us with the process and he never mentioned it would cause delays. Not that I've found the lawyer at all impressive or helpful.

Mine is still in process as well. I applied through Buffalo (they received my app in March, didn't start processing until July), and we paid all fees upfront. Our MP (well my husband's MP) has called twice now, and all they have been able to find out is that they've okay-ed my medical history and they've waived my interview. Apparently they've been waiting on my background check from the RCMP since JULY! I am so frustrated. I'm in Quebec with my husband, but today I'm so tired of all of this that I feel like giving up and just going home.

Don't give up, you're almost there! Honestly, there are quite a few people who applied in Nov/Dec of last year who still haven't received their ppr (Passport Request). I'm not sure how long an RCMP check is supposed to take. Did your MP say if there is a bring-forward date on your file?

Give some thought into ordering your GCMS notes. They helped me find a problem and get a solution relatively quickly and we got our PPR a week after I did some digging.

Don't lose hope, it will happen. The worst feeling is comparing your time line to everyone else, we all do it and we all suffer for it.

I hope you hear something soon... and I hope they clear up the backlog from last year also. Too many people waiting too long without their spouse and family.

Thank you for the kind words. I actually just emailed in the forms requesting my GCMS notes. We requested they be sent via email, so hopefully we'll get them quickly (though I don't think the government knows the meaning of that word). I'm hoping that they will help. If nothing else we won't be so in the dark about what is going on.

I actually have never heard of a bring-forward date. What is that? Last time I spoke with the MP's office I was told the info I shared earlier, and that they'd been informed that the average processing time was 11 mths. I think that was Buffalo's way of telling them to leave them alone. Haha. No other word on dates.

They will process your GCMS notes request and they "should" have your notes to you in 30 days...and it seems they like to take the full 30 days so don't stress if you don't hear back right away.

A bring forward date is a date that the visa officer sets on your file to have it reviewed again. So if they are waiting for something like RCMP check, or medicals or if they request info from you, they will set a BF date so that they can review your file again. Keep in mind, they have 30 days from your bf date to review the file. IF your RCMP ckeck arrives prior to the bf date, the file is "supposed" to go back to the officer, but the bf date is thereas a failsafe so that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

Finally got an update from my MP today....

-Most recent movement – they received emails from the applicant proving that the mother of the children is hostile and non cooperative.
-The case has moved passed this and is going well
-Case is in final stages and is in queue for final review set for Mid November.

So with any luck, my xmas gift will be my husband coming home...finally!! ;D

PPR requested today!!! Elated!!!
