FINALLY!!!!! :D ;D Ecas finally updated today, Application received May 6, 2011!!!!!!!!! Jayde you should be getting that too shortly!!!

YAY!!! I'm so happy for you!! Hopefully they process yours quickly. I know it's been rough. Is there a file number on Ecas for Buffalo? We are hoping there's some info on it for where we can send a change of address.

Nobody really answered this earlier but... Can we change my husbands address to my address in Alberta once we get a file number? Will they send a PPR for outland to a Canadian address? I just hope things go quick. I know it's not likely but ... I have to hope.

my file has been transferred since 27 april and until now nothing available on the ecas, i can't know why until now my file hasn't arrive to the vo ... frustrated :S:S

My understanding is that you can change the mailing address to the Canadian one...just not his residential address. If he is giving up his place, then have his residential moved to his parents, family members or close friends house...

Yes you can, my husband's mailing address is my mailing address in Canada, it doesn't matter.

dear gwalyat,
the only reason that we did this was because we don't trust our mailing and posting system in our country and letters getting lost is a very usual thing there! :D that's why we put my mailing address in Canada for both of the mailing addresses. other than that i don't think it matters. :)

Can't imagine that it's standard that the sponsor gets an email confirming his/her sponsorship was approved and that the file was transferred (that would be the AOR, even though it goes to him/her?), but the applicant doesn't get anything....anyone else?

Hello all:

Hoping someone can answering this:

My app is currently in Buffalo, received April 28th. My sponsor was notified in her approval email that the application was going to be sent to Buffalo.

Should I have expected a letter or email as the applicant that notifies me that my app is in Buffalo?

Thanks and best of luck to everyone!

Hi Fizzlefunk and anyone else who might have some insight......

Just read your post about heading to Canada to start your wait. I have been doing some serious stressing about getting in to the country (ha, not until August but I like to be prepared!) and just have a couple questions on this...

Hey mmshock, sorry for the late reply, just catching up on old posts!

When you crossed the border in the car did you have a lot of furniture or luggage or anything that you were moving her to Canada with? Everyone has warned me that it cant look like we are moving back, but how on earth do we get around that! We will have our dog, living room and bedroom furniture. The car is in my name and I'll be exporting/importing when I land as an immigrant. Too complicated to get it in my husbands name before we go. So it looks like I'll be driving it across with him and the u-haul......

I did not bring all my stuff, actually. I U-Haul'd everything to a storage unit just across the border and crossed in my car with just a suitcase, a bike, a backpack or two, and three cats.

I won't have a job in the states to go back to, but I do have a wedding to attend one month after we get to Canada and own a house and have some bank accounts in the states. Would that be enough evidence? I have paid all my fees, sponsorship has been approved, and fingers crossed, by August i'll for sure have my AOR and hopefully initial assessment....

The officer explicitly asked me to prove that I'm going to return to the US. I told him that I have a lease on my apartment that isn't up til October. I had a file prepared with all sorts of documents in preparation for this, including the receipt from my immigration fees, copy of my lease, utility bill with my name on it for that apartment, marriage cert, recent bank statements, etc. To be honest, it was kind of iffy feeling and I'm hesitant to try another border crossing until I get PR.

I don't think the officer I dealt with would have let me through if I had a car full of goods and a U-Haul with my furniture. Everybody's experience is different, though...

Best of luck, mmshock! Hope my experience helps you a bit :)

ecas updated finally .. application received may 11 :))

I'm about to have a major breakdown. Since my sponsorship approval on April 20, We STILL haven't recieved anything to let us know Buffalo has recieved our file. I emailed the buffalo office to ask about it but no reply yet. I don't know WHAT to do!
