I sent my outland application (Buffalo) to CIC-M yesterday and it was delivered today (March 10th)!
Go team March 2010!
Best wishes everyone!

Will be sending my application by next week after my medical exams! So I am joining the club! A quick question, I am sending my application from the Philippines and will wait out the process in Canada. Is there a chance that the immigration in Canada will refuse me entry if they find out that I have an PR application? I am travelling with my canadian husband and child. They did ask me the last time I travelled to Canada. thanks for your feedback!

I've read on other postings that if you are traveling with your spouse into Canada, and you have proof of filling as a PR (copy of the recipet, or sponsorship agreement form, sponsorship letter from CIC) that you should be let in. I came in before I got married and am here on the 6 month visa thing and waiting on a response for an extension, so I haven't personally gone through your situation.

HI EVERYONE,

I READ SOME PERSONS POST SAYING THEY WANT TO DO MEDICALS THEN SEND THIER FORM AFTERWARDS DOES IT MEAN WE HAVE TO DO MEDICALS BEFORE WE SUBMIT INITIALLY TO CIC? ALSO WHERE DO YOU SEND THE INITIAL APPLICATION YOUR VISA OFFICE OR CANADA PLEASE CAN ANYONE SEND ME THE ADRESS?

If you read the immigration guide, it says to include form IMM 1017 (you get this from the doctor) in your application. You have to do the medical before you send out the application. The entire application (sponsor and immigrant parts) are sent to CPC-Mississauga. It's then looked at to see if the sponsor is elligible (takes about a month) then the application is sent to the visa office. Here is the address to send the application:
Case Processing Centre – Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga ON L5A 4N6

Hi freckles4256,

Great!
Not sure if the waiting stress is worse than the "getting prepared to send" stress :-\
Which office will you be going thru after CPC-M?

Application received: March 4th 2010
Medical done: november 18th 2009

no words yet...so nervous...lets the waiting begin.

I am just about done with the application, just the medical exam and we are ready to send it! I just have a question and hoping to get some answer from someone who can help?! I am applying outbound but intend to wait it out in Canada since i have a TRV. I made my mailing address and contact number in Canada, so if and when i get approved will they be corresponding with me through the mailing address I gave them, how do they normally correspond, through email or mail? If I am asked to send my passport to the country where it is being processed, in my case the Philippines, will they send back my passport with the visa in Canada as well? If yes how do they normally send it? courier or regular mail? Can i also land in canada via the US? thank you so much!

Looks like the processing time is up to 66 days now for CIC-M. I think it was 64 last week. :(

I saw that too...66 days is way too long!!!

Yes 66 days is long, but lets just hope CIC finishes helping out Haitians and simultaneously help people like us who are away from loved ones :(

Hello everyone!

We finally sent our application out, after a long wait from the FBI for the Police Clearance.
Mailed yesterday from Ottawa, arrived in Mississauga this morning! (3/16)

I'm a US Citizen looking to immigrate to Canada to be with my wife and (soon-to-be) baby boy.

Unfortunately, my medical will expire before the completion of the process, which I'm sure will set us back a few weeks...but the stress of getting it all together is finally over! Can't wait to see this finally completed.

Thankfully, I'm only a 90-minute drive from my spouse, so I travel there often to see her (most weekends, and will continue to do so throughout the process)...but we've battled through this just to get the necessary paperwork. Sitting and waiting doesn't seem so bad after that. :)

Good luck to all!

Any additional pointers out there from what other people have experienced? I think we've got everything covered up to this point.

Hi Frenchrock,

Congrats on sending! I was wondering how long in total it took for you guys to get the FBI clearance back? We are still waiting for ours (requested it on Jan 13)...
