Sorry people, I just had an interesting question or what I believe to be interesting, come across my mind. Before I departed for Ukraine to marry my wife all the forms indicated that my wife must wait for VO to request medical and Police check. When I was in Ukraine about one month later I read an update on CIC website for Ukraine that medical must be submitted. We did medical. After I returned to Canada I saw another update on June 15 that she should also submit the Police check. We did this and included it in the app. but again delayed us in filing. Now my question is..... According to the processing time on CIC and last updated April 27, 2011 it indicated the time of 8 months. All these changes took place after I received the app kit. So that would mean that the 8 months included waiting for Kiev to request medical and police check. So now by submitting them with the app does that lower the wait time for the PR and if so by how much would one safely guess in time.

If you're applying outland, i.e. your spouse is living at her country of normal residency while the process is ongoing, then you MUST submit all paperwork including medicals and police records together with the application. If you don't the application documents will be sent back to you and the whole process runs the risk of getting delayed further. (see your Region's Guide at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3902e.pdf for more info)

if for any reason you did not submit proof that the medical exams were done or originals of police records with translations, do so as quick as you can to avoid a refusal.

The first stage of the application review, the sponsorship approval process, is currently taking 46 days at CPC Mississauga. Then your application gets transferred to the Visa Office (VO) responsible for your region, in this case Kiev, which is currently at 8 months like you mentioned, but that's only the second stage of the application, the PR evaluation. (You can check processing times here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp).

Thanks and I realize what you said. Read the question more clearly and then you will know what I asked. When I was mailed the application kit, Ukraine and other CIS countries applicants were informed not to do medical or police until notified by the VO. This was back in April. According to the website April 27 was a 8 month processing. Now since April and approx in May an update was posted for CIS countries that medical should be submitted with application. Then upon my return to Canada to file I checked the site again and on June 15th another update was posted for Ukraine that a police record check was also to be submitted. So my question was. If in April the process time was 8 month not including the medical and police check how much shorter a wait time is it now having submitted both.

I'm panicking a little bit because I didn't send my option C with my application. Revenue Canada wasn't done their assessment of me for 2010, and after some asking on here, I discovered that plenty of people don't send it, and just send a note and some pay stubs. I ended up sending some pay stubs from 2010 (couldn't find them all) and I submitted a bank statement and a note why I wasn't submitting the option C and that I would submit it when it was available. But I'm freaking out a little bit, wondering if they request extra documents at Mississauga or if they just refuse the app outright if something is missing even if there is a note about it.... What do you guys think? I know I'm probably worrying for nothing...but ahhhh. Waiting is hard and it's been less than a week since I submitted... Haha.

Ambber, you made it to our list!! thanks for the info! are you filing through the Buffalo office?

By the way, is July 11 the date you shipped your application or is that when it was received at CPC-M?
Buffalo
My lawyer sent it on July.11/2011. May be it reached Mississauga office on July.14/2011?
Also I was just wondering if my husband needs the clearance from India. He came to USA when he was 18 and 3 months of age.
Any comments? I just want to be sure so we dont waste our time.
I am just hoping he will be here before Feb. My delivery date will be somewhere in March 2012.
How many months does it take now?

Ambber you only need police clearance from countries you lived in for more than six months (6) after turning 18 years old. So if your husband was only 18 and 3 months when he left India, the he would not need that certificate. You can read more info here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Ok, so i'll put you down for July 14 on our spreadsheet. As for processing times, it's currently running you 46 days for the sponsorship part to be assessed at Mississauga, and then some 11 months at Buffalo, but i've read from other US applicants saying it's usually shorter than that.

So good luck and dont forget to keep us updated on your progress!

hello July applicants, i'd like to propose adding a column to our spreadsheet with the Estimated Approval Date (EAD) based on the 46 (currently) days posted by the CIC on the website.

Let me know what you think or if that will add to the anxiety and nervousness we are all experiencing already.

Here's one example what that would look like using my information:

Name Visa Office App. Recvd EAD Actual Apprvl Date Days for Approved
Aneyshar Guatemala7/12/20118/27/11

So notice my EAD is Aug. 27 if you count 46 days from the date my application was received at Mississauga. Remember it's only an estimate. The Actual Approval Date is the one that counts.

Let me know if you think this is useful.

Hi Aneyshar,

How do you know you have been approved? Do they mail the letter right away. My lawyer mentioned that we get approval within three months. (May be he said it so I do not bother him lol? )

No, I havent been approved. :p

What I'm saying is that I can guesstimate the approximate date when the sponsorship will be approved based on the posted processing times on CIC's website, currently showing at 46 days.

I wanted to add that info to each of our infos. It's an easy calculation that you can do on your head, but seeing it printed has a certain punch, something to look forward to. But it can also add to the anxiousness and nervousness we're already experiencing!

Let me know if this is something you find useful.

I think it's useful! Also, on the spreadsheet, the date that my application arrived is July 26th, not 27th. :)

Hi Aneyshar,
I agree, go for it.
Please add Medical done May 18. into the spreadsheet for the Bluesteam.

Thank you !!

Of course! In fact the processing time is updated every Wednesday by CIC and posted on the website. So the EAD will ALSO get updated on the spreadsheet to reflect that change ;)

Like I said in my previous post, it's not something that you should take as written in stone, it's just an "objective" to keep in mind and help track our progress into the future.

One of the benefits I see to this is that if you hit the EAD date and havent heard from CIC by then, you can take steps to find out what's going on. It's sorta like a memory aid and a target in your calendar.

Anyways, the info is there. If anybody feels is not necessary, please ignore it. And if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to send them my way!
